I rarely share these sorts of things, but this topic is very dear to my heart and we are running out of time (August 10th is the deadline).
"Health Canada is planning monumental changes to treat safe, natural health products (NHPs) like pharmaceutical drugs. This proposed overregulation and all the associated extra costs will negatively impact how natural health-product companies operate. It will needlessly increase the cost of products with natural product number (NPN) licenses, forcing a negative downstream effect on retailers that will lead to cost increases that will inevitably be transferred to consumers."
Imagine if you could no longer go to your health food store and purchase (or afford to purchase) D-mannose for a bladder infection, zinc for a cold, or Vitamin D for bone and immune health, valerian for sleep support, berberine for digestive health, ashwagandha for nervous system regulation....the list goes on an on. We use dozens of supplements in our family and deeply value the plants and supplements that bring us a sense of balance in a crazy world. How many of these supplements will disappear after a panel of individuals who do not necessarily use or value NHPs take over the decision making?
