🌿✨ Hi, I’m Stephanie — The Holistic OT behind The Holistic OT Sanctuary ✨🌿

If you’re new here… welcome 🤍 I’m so happy you found your way to this space.

I’m an Occupational Therapist — but not in the way most people expect.

I don’t just look at symptoms.
I don’t just give strategies.
I don’t believe in “fixing” people.

I believe in understanding you as a whole human — your body, your mind, your story, your nervous system.

Because behind the overwhelm, the pain, the burnout… there is always a reason. And there is always a way forward.

💫 A little bit about me…

My work isn’t just professional — it’s deeply personal.

I’ve lived through:
• Trauma
• Chronic pain & health conditions
• Neurodivergence
• Burnout from trying to “hold it all together”

From the outside, I looked like I was doing fine. Inside… I was exhausted, disconnected, and surviving.

Until I started doing the real work.
The deep, messy, beautiful work of healing.

And that changed everything.

🌊 Today, I help others do the same.

Through a holistic OT approach, I support:

✨ Adults navigating burnout, chronic pain & neurodivergence
✨ Kids & families going from chaos → calm
✨ Individuals who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected

Not by pushing harder… But by helping you come back to yourself.

Because healing isn’t about becoming someone new — it’s about remembering who you’ve always been.

🌿 This space is for you if…

• You’re tired of “just coping”
• You feel overwhelmed in your body or mind
• You’ve tried everything… but something still feels off
• You want a more compassionate, sustainable way to heal

✨ If this resonates with you…
I’d love to connect.

You can:
👉 Follow along for education & support
👉 Reach out if you’re curious about working together
👉 Or simply stay and take what you need

🌊 You don’t have to do this alone. And you don’t have to keep pushing through.

With compassion, Stephanie 💕

🧠 Week 1 – Big Feelings Live in the Body
We start with awareness. Children learn that emotions show up physically first. No shame. Just understanding.

🔥 Week 2 – What Happens During Overwhelm?
We explore the nervous system. Fight. Flight. Freeze. Kids learn that their “safety alarm” sometimes goes off too fast. Understanding replaces self-blame.

🛠️ Week 3 – Building Calm Tools
We create personalized regulation toolkits. Breathing. Movement. Grounding. Children discover what works for their body.

⏸️ Week 4 – Pause Before Reaction
We practice the most powerful skill: the pause. Creating space between feeling and action. This is where impulse control begins to grow.

💛 Week 5 – Repair & Responsibility
We normalize mistakes. We practice reconnection. Resilience grows when children know how to come back.

✨ Week 6 – Integration & Celebration
We bring it all together. Children reflect on what they’ve learned. Parents witness growth. Confidence deepens.

🌊✨ WEEK 2 REVEAL ✨🌊
Emotional Regulation Lab – Theme: What Happens During Overwhelm?

Last week, we learned that big feelings live in the body. 💛

This week… we go deeper.

Because once children can notice body clues, the next step is understanding:

👉 What actually happens inside me when I “lose it”?

🧠 Week 2 Theme: The Brain & Body in Overwhelm

In kid-friendly language, we explore:

🔥 What fight feels like
🏃 What flight feels like
🧊 What freeze feels like
💓 Why our heart beats fast
😮‍💨 Why breathing changes
⚡ Why our body moves before our brain thinks

We teach children that their brain has a “safety alarm.”

And sometimes… it goes off too fast.

Why is this powerful?

Because when a child believes:
“I’m bad.”

They feel shame.

But when a child understands:
“My safety alarm went off.”

They feel empowered.

And empowerment builds regulation.

In Week 2, your child will:

🧠 Learn about their “upstairs brain” and “downstairs brain”
🎭 Role-play different overwhelm reactions
💨 Practice noticing early warning signs
🌿 Begin identifying when their body is shifting

We’re building awareness before reaction.

Because you cannot regulate what you don’t understand.

This is where the shift happens:

Instead of:
“He just exploded.”

We begin to see:
“His nervous system flipped into survival mode.”

That lens changes how children see themselves.
And how adults support them.

Small groups.
Science-informed.
Play-based.
Shame-free.

If your child struggles with big reactions, fast escalations, or emotional intensity — this is foundational work.

Parents often think their child is not trying hard enough at school.

But many children are actually struggling with skills their brain and body are still learning to develop. 🧠✨

What may look like:
• lack of effort
• distraction
• avoidance
• big emotions

…can sometimes be a child who is working twice as hard just to keep up.

This is where Occupational Therapy can make a meaningful difference. 💛

OT supports children in developing the foundational skills they need for everyday activities, including school.

Occupational Therapy can help children improve:

✏️ Writing and fine motor skills
🧠 Focus and attention
⚡ Emotional and body regulation
📚 School participation and learning skills
💛 Confidence and independence

When we support the skills behind behavior, children can begin to feel more capable, successful, and understood.

And when children feel successful, they are more motivated to try. 🌱

If you are wondering whether Occupational Therapy could support your child, feel free to reach out and ask questions.

✨ Early support can make a big difference in a child’s confidence and development.

🌊✨ WEEK 1 REVEAL ✨🌊

Emotional Regulation Lab – Theme: Big Feelings Live in the Body

Before we talk about behavior…
Before we talk about coping skills…
Before we tell kids to “calm down”…

We start with the body. 🧠💛

Because here’s the truth:

Big feelings don’t begin in the mind.
They begin in the nervous system.

Fast heartbeat 💓
Tight tummy 🤢
Hot face 🔥
Wiggly body ⚡
Heavy shoulders 💤

When children understand their body signals, they gain power.

And that’s exactly what we build in Week 1.

✨ In our first session, your child will learn:

🧠 What emotions actually are
💛 How feelings show up in the body
🌊 What “overwhelm” feels like
🗣️ How to name body clues
🌿 That big feelings are not bad

We normalize.
We validate.
We build awareness.

Because awareness always comes before regulation.

Most kids are told:
“Stop.”
“Calm down.”
“Use your words.”

But if their body is in fight, flight, or freeze…
They physically can’t.

That’s not defiance.
That’s biology.

And when children learn:
“I’m not bad. My body is overwhelmed.”

Everything shifts. 💛

This is not a behavior class.

This is nervous system education for little humans.

And it’s the foundation for resilience.

🌪️ Big Feelings Aren’t Bad Behavior

Sometimes kids don’t need more discipline.

They need skills.

Skills to:
🧠 understand their emotions
💛 calm their nervous system
💬 express what they need
🌊 move from overwhelm to regulation

And here’s the thing most parents aren’t told…

Emotional regulation is a learned skill.

Kids are not born knowing how to:
• calm their body
• manage frustration
• handle disappointment
• regulate anger or anxiety

They learn it through practice, support, and safe spaces.

That’s exactly why I created the Emotional Regulation Lab. 🧪✨

A playful, supportive space where kids learn:
🌈 what feelings mean
🧠 how their brain works
💪 tools to calm their body
🎨 ways to express emotions safely

Because when kids understand their nervous system…

Everything changes.

Less meltdowns.
More confidence.
More connection at home. 💛

🌊 What Is The Emotional Regulation Lab?

The Emotional Regulation Lab is a 6-week, OT-led small group program designed to help children build real-life emotional skills in a safe, structured, shame-free environment.

This isn’t a drop-in play group.
And it’s not behavior correction.

It’s nervous system skill-building.

✨ How Sessions Are Structured

Each week follows a predictable rhythm to help children feel safe and regulated:

1️⃣ Arrival & Body Check-In
We begin with grounding, movement, and a “how does my body feel?” check-in.

2️⃣ Teaching Moment
Children learn one core concept (ex: what happens in the brain during overwhelm, how anger shows up in the body, how to pause before reacting).

3️⃣ Practice Lab
We practice through:
• Movement & heavy work
• Breathing & calming tools
• Games & role play
• Emotional vocabulary building
• Creative expression

4️⃣ Integration & Reflection
We close with a regulation tool they can bring home.

🌈 Weekly Goals

Each week builds on the last:

Week 1: Understanding big feelings
Week 2: What happens in the brain & body
Week 3: Calm tools that actually work
Week 4: Pause before reaction
Week 5: Communication & repair
Week 6: Confidence & independence

By the end of 6 weeks, children don’t just “behave better.”
They understand themselves better.

And that changes everything.

🌿 Regulated children become resilient teens.
🌊 Resilient teens become grounded adults.

If you’re ready to help your child move from chaos to calm, comment “LAB” or send me a message.

Spots are intentionally limited to keep the group safe and intimate. 💛

🌊✨ What We’ll Be Building Over 6 Weeks ✨🌊

Before we begin, I want you to see the bigger picture.

This is not a random collection of activities.

This is a developmental sequence.

Over 6 weeks, your child will move through a carefully structured pathway:

🧠 Week 1 – Big Feelings Live in the Body
We start with awareness. Children learn that emotions show up physically first. No shame. Just understanding.

🔥 Week 2 – What Happens During Overwhelm?
We explore the nervous system. Fight. Flight. Freeze. Kids learn that their “safety alarm” sometimes goes off too fast. Understanding replaces self-blame.

🛠️ Week 3 – Building Calm Tools
We create personalized regulation toolkits. Breathing. Movement. Grounding. Children discover what works for their body.

⏸️ Week 4 – Pause Before Reaction
We practice the most powerful skill: the pause. Creating space between feeling and action. This is where impulse control begins to grow.

💛 Week 5 – Repair & Responsibility
We normalize mistakes. We practice reconnection. Resilience grows when children know how to come back.

✨ Week 6 – Integration & Celebration
We bring it all together. Children reflect on what they’ve learned. Parents witness growth. Confidence deepens.

This 6-week arc follows the foundation of The Sanctuary Method™:

Regulation → Capacity → Identity.

We don’t rush skills before safety. We build from the body up.

Because regulated children become resilient teens.

And resilient teens become grounded adults.

🌊 From Chaos to Calm: The Emotional Regulation Lab Is Officially Open

If your home sometimes sounds like:

“IT’S NOT FAIRRR!” 😩
“I DON’T WANT TO!” 😡

Take a breath. 💛

Your child isn’t “too much.”
They’re dysregulated.

And regulation is a skill.

✨ The Emotional Regulation Lab is a 6-week, small-group experience where kids learn how their nervous system works — and what to actually do when big feelings take over.

This isn’t behavior correction.
This is nervous system skill-building.
