✨ Questions about The Emotional Regulation Lab?

I know enrolling your child in something new can bring up a lot of thoughts:

✨Is this the right fit?
✨Will my child feel comfortable?
✨What if they’re shy?
✨What if their meltdowns are intense?
✨What exactly will they learn?

I want you to feel informed and confident. 💛

So I’ll be going LIVE on Friday, March 6 at lunchtime to answer your questions about the program.

This is your space to ask anything — truly.

About:
🌿 Who the program is for
🌿 How the groups are structured
🌿 What happens during a session
🌿 Whether it’s the right fit for your child
🌿 How regulation skills are actually taught

Drop your questions below 👇
Or bring them to the live.

You don’t have to navigate this alone.

🌊 From Chaos to Calm: The Emotional Regulation Lab Is Officially Open

If your home sometimes sounds like:

“IT’S NOT FAIRRR!” 😩
“I DON’T WANT TO!” 😡
—or the dramatic silent floor meltdown…

Take a breath. 💛

Your child isn’t “too much.”
They’re dysregulated.

And regulation is a skill.

✨ The Emotional Regulation Lab is a 6-week, small-group experience where kids learn how their nervous system works — and what to actually do when big feelings take over.

This isn’t behavior correction.
This is nervous system skill-building.

🌈 Inside The Lab, Kids Learn:

✔️ How big feelings show up in the body
✔️ What actually happens during overwhelm
✔️ Why anger isn’t “bad”
✔️ Practical calm tools that work (not just “take a breath”)
✔️ How to pause before reacting
✔️ How to repair after big moments

We practice:

🫁 Breathing tools
💪 Heavy work & sensory regulation
🎲 Mindfulness games
🎨 Creative emotional expression
🗣️ Communication & repair skills

💛 I’m Stephanie — Registered Occupational Therapist in Alberta, trauma-informed, and founder of The Sanctuary Method™.

I don’t just teach regulation.
I’ve lived dysregulation.

And I now help kids (and parents) understand their nervous system so they stop believing they are the problem.

🌿✨ The Sanctuary Method™ — Empowering Families From the Inside Out ✨🌿

The Sanctuary Method™ applies across all ages.

❎ It’s not a kids strategy.
❎ It’s not a parenting hack.
✅ It’s a developmental framework.

💕For little ones → regulation through body awareness.
💕For school-age children → regulation through executive function.
💕For teens → regulation through identity and ownership.
💕For parents → regulation through self-awareness and co-regulation.

I don’t start with behavior.
I start with the body.

Because what we label as:

• Meltdowns
• Defiance
• Anxiety
• Aggression
• Shutdowns

Are not character flaws.

They are nervous system signals.

When a child feels overwhelmed, the body shifts into survival mode:

🔥 Fight
🏃 Flight
🧊 Freeze

And when survival mode is activated…

❎ Logic doesn’t work.
❎ Consequences don’t work.
❎ Lectures don’t work.

Regulation must come first.

The Sanctuary Method™ follows three layers:

1️⃣ Regulation – Feel safe in the body.
2️⃣ Capacity – Build skills like impulse control, flexibility, and emotional language.
3️⃣ Identity – Grow resilience, ownership, and confidence.

For children, this means movement-based learning, sensory tools, pause practice, and repair skills — all within predictable, shame-free environments.

For parents, this means learning to regulate first. Because empowered children need regulated adults.

🌊 In the Emotional Regulation Lab (The Lighthouse Series), we are not fixing behavior.

We are strengthening nervous systems.

And when nervous systems feel safe:

✨ Executive function grows.
✨ Emotional flexibility increases.
✨ Relationships improve.
✨ Confidence builds.

Regulated children become resilient teens.
Resilient teens become grounded adults.

That’s the long game.

🌿 From overwhelm to steady.
🌿 From chaos to calm.
🌿 From reaction to resilience.

That’s The Sanctuary Method™ in action.

🌿 What Is an Occupational Therapist? (No, It’s Not About Jobs 😂)

Every time I say I’m an OT, I get one of these:

👀 “Ohhh… like HR?”
💼 “So you help people find work?”
🩺 “Is that like physio?”
🤔 “What is that exactly?”

LOL. Fair question. Let me explain.

💛 What Is Occupational Therapy?

An Occupational Therapist helps people participate in the “occupations” of life.

And occupation doesn’t mean career. It means the everyday things that fill your day.

For kids, that includes:
🎒 Getting dressed
✏️ Writing at school
🤝 Making friends
🍽 Eating
🎨 Playing
🧠 Managing big feelings
💤 Sleeping

For parents, it includes:
🗓 Creating routines
🌪 Managing chaos
💛 Supporting emotional regulation
🧠 Understanding their child’s nervous system

If something in daily life feels hard, overwhelming, or dysregulated… That’s where OT comes in.

🧠 What Makes My OT Approach Different?

I’m a holistic, trauma-informed OT. That means I don’t just look at behavior.

I look at:
🧠 The nervous system
💪 The body
🌿 Sensory processing
💭 Emotional regulation
🏠 The home environment
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Family dynamics

Because meltdowns aren’t “bad behavior.” They’re nervous systems asking for support.

🌊 How I Support Kids & Families

✨ I help kids understand their feelings
✨ I teach real coping skills (not just “calm down”)
✨ I build sensory regulation tools
✨ I support focus & executive functioning
✨ I coach parents to move from reacting to responding

I help families go from:

🌪 Chaos to 🌊 Calm.. From confusion- to clarity 🌟.. From survival- to connection 💛

OT isn’t about fixing kids. It’s about helping them feel safe in their body. And when a child feels safe?

🦸‍♂️Confidence grows.
🦸‍♀️Skills develop.
🏡Homes soften.

So now you know 😉 Next time someone asks what an OT is…

You can say: They can help families regulate their nervous systems and actually enjoy life again. 💛🌿

🌿 Hi, I’m Stephanie — The Holistic OT

And before I was a therapist… I was a little girl living in survival mode. I grew up carrying invisible trauma.
.. On the outside? High-achieving. Responsible. Smiling.
.. On the inside? Anxious. Hypervigilant. Exhausted.

For years, I lived disconnected from my body — pushing through, overworking, overgiving. Until my body said: enough.

In the past few years, I’ve been diagnosed with:
• ADHD with burnout cycle
• PCOS
• Chronic pain (still ongoing investigation)
• Post-concussion syndrome & whiplash (had a broken rib)
• CPTSD

I navigate fatigue, sensory overload, inflammation, nervous system dysregulation — daily. And here’s what I’ve learned:

When the nervous system feels unsafe…
Life feels chaotic.

Not just for adults. For kids too.

💛 Why I Do This Work

Because I know what it feels like to:
• Be labeled “too sensitive”
• Mask your struggles
• Push through pain
• Feel misunderstood
• Live in fight-or-flight

And I also know what healing feels like. Healing is not perfection. It’s learning how to come back to yourself.

That’s why I created The Holistic OT Sanctuary. I don’t help families “fix” their children.

🌟 I help them understand the nervous system.
🌟 I help parents regulate themselves.
🌟 I help kids build skills to move from meltdown to mastery.
🌟 I help homes move from chaos to calm.

Because when a child feels safe in their body, everything shifts. When a parent feels empowered instead of overwhelmed, everything softens.

I do this work because I’ve lived it.

📕Not from a textbook.
🧠From my nervous system.
💕From my healing.
💝From my daily practice of choosing compassion over control.

If you’re here, and you’re tired… You’re not failing.

You’re dysregulated. And that’s something we can work with.

🌿 Welcome to The Holistic OT Sanctuary.
A place where healing is human. And calm is possible. For you... and your family 🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒

Hello Parents 💛

For those who are new here, my name is Stephanie, and I’m a holistic and trauma-informed Occupational Therapist. My work is rooted in nervous system education, emotional regulation, sensory support, and practical everyday strategies that truly fit real family life.

My goal is simple but powerful: to support families in going from chaos to calm — and to help raise resilient kids who feel confident, regulated, and understood. I believe both parents and children deserve practical toolkits they can use in everyday moments — during the hard mornings, the big emotions, the bedtime struggles, and everything in between.

I’m currently practicing at Sitka Health Collective, and I’m in the process of developing workshop series and additional supports for families in our community. I don’t want to guess what families need — I want to build it with you.

That’s why I created a short survey.

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/8R9J2FN

Your voice truly matters. When you share your challenges, your needs, and what kind of support would feel helpful, it allows me to design workshops and services that are relevant, accessible, and actually useful for your home — not just theory, but real-life tools.

If you’re a parent in our community, I would deeply appreciate you taking 5 minutes to fill it out. You are helping shape resources that are meant to support families like yours.

Thank you for being part of this 🌿💛

Most people think ergonomics is about buying a new chair or sitting “perfectly.”

It’s really about how your body, your work, and your workspace interact every single day.

Small things — like screen height, chair support, or not moving enough — can slowly build into pain, fatigue, or tension over time.

An ergonomic assessment helps you understand what’s going on and make simple, realistic changes that actually support your body at work.

You don’t have to wait until the pain gets worse.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

✨ Book your ergonomic assessment today

“Wait… so what is OT?” 🤔
If I had a dollar for every time I got asked this, I could buy a very nice ergonomic chair 😅

Occupational Therapy isn’t just about work.
It’s about real life.

Getting dressed without a meltdown.
Surviving your workday without burning out.
Finding energy for things you actually enjoy.
Helping kids play, learn, and regulate.
Helping adults function, rest, and breathe again.

In OT, we look at self-care, productivity, and leisure — because when one of those is off, life feels… off.

So no, I don’t just “give exercises.”
I help people build a daily life that feels more doable, supportive, and human 🌿

Swipe to finally understand what OT really is — and save this for the next time someone asks you 😉
