Drew Dandelion wants you to know that some children with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) need extra time to process spoken language. This has nothing to do with hearing or intelligence. It is about how the brain processes language.

Understanding this helps us give children the time, support, and patience they need to succeed.

Our President, Dr. Anne Laurie, was awarded the Inclusive Innovator of the Year at the 2025 Mitacs Innovation Awards, held at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa — one of Canada’s most prestigious national research awards.

Mitacs is a national organization that supports research, innovation, and collaboration between universities, industry, and communities across Canada.

From presenting our research to MPs in Parliament, to standing alongside exceptional innovators from across the country, this recognition highlights the impact of the Curriculum-Based Dynamic Assessment (CBDA) and our mission to create equitable language assessment for all children.
