A little poem I wrote before my meditation. I thought I’d share it with you today. Let me know in the comments if you can relate ✌️
Gravity
Everyday gravity pulls on me
Pulls my neck forward
Pulls the small of my back in
Things constantly
being pulled on
And down
My eye bags droop
My hair falls
My belly sags
But my body rebels.
Like my shoulders who are always ready to prove gravity wrong and hold themselves up high
Or my brain who spins upward
And my chest. She loves to lift herself up to the sky in a statement of defiance. Or perhaps, she’s showing that she can do anything you say she can’t, no matter what you think.
So I sit.
I sit to bring my brain down
I sit to let my chest, shoulders, and eyes rest
I sit to settle.
I sit to surrender.
I sit and allow the mighty things be.
I sit.
And sit.
And sit.
Eyes closed, relaxed head.
Alignment. Ever present alignment. She hugs me and whispers in my ear “welcome home”
and I exhale.
Gravity becomes my wholesome friend once more.
