According to Greek mythology celestite comes from a cluster of stars known as Pleiades, or The Seven Sisters, and this is a reason it possesses qualities of the heavens and angels. The Pleiades were seven sisters… Maia, Electra, Alcyone, Taygete, Asterope, Celaeno, and Merope. Their parents were Atlas, a Titan who held up the sky, and the Pleione, the protectress of sailing. After a chance meeting with the hunter Orion, the Pleiades became the object of his pursuit. Enamoured with the young virgins he pursued them over the face of the Earth. In pity for their plight, Zeus changed the sisters into a flock of doves, which he set in the heavens. There these seven sisters formed the star cluster known as the Pleiades. Only six stars are distinctly visible to the naked eye. Merope, one of the sisters, deserted her sisters in shame after having taken a mortal husband.

According to another myth celestite was created originally by the music of angels singing in celestial choirs. Celestite is thought to help access the angelic realms through communication with the stone. It is also said that the stone can tell stories and share knowledge or angelic realms to those who listen and communicate though it.

Celestite, also known as Celestine, is best recognized as a sky blue colored crystal often found in clusters. The name Celestite is derived from the Latin word “caelestis” which means celestial” or “heavenly.” The ideal placement for celestite is in the bedroom or your meditation space. Place a piece of celestite next to your bed and it will help you remember dreams and other astral experiences more vividly. Celestite is also said to help those who fear heights. It can help you find your spirit guide and develop the gift of prophecy, clairvoyance and psychic abilities. Celestite can be used to help a rescued animal trust humans again or help an injured animal to recover its strength.

Holiday trappings and wrappings

There is much frenzy when the holidays are near, and the year nears its final days. Amid the Christmas carols, there is a palpable sense of rush in the air.

This high octane energy combined with the hollowness (not holiness) can swallow us, and spit us out days later in a shopping mall –physical or virtual– dazed. Or in a family dinner, trying to make everything "Martha Stewart perfect," or simply because "it has always been done like that in the family." Relentless pressure and stress.

This year we can choose to go with the same old pattern at the cost of our nerves, values and savings, or we can choose a more conscious approach and nurture the soul and the spirit of our family and community.

To follow the more profound route we tune in to nature and its cycles, as they have a direct impact on our psyche and moods.

December 21st is Winter Solstice in the northern hemisphere and Summer Solstice in the southern hemisphere. In the north we are approaching the shortest day and the longest night of the year after which we celebrate the return of the light.

Find a quiet space to honor the transformative qualities of the dark and reflect on the attainments and regrets of the past year. Afterwards light a candle or make a ceremonial fire to burn what no longer serves you. Take your time, be still, meditate on the flames and bring forth your soul’s longing for the new solar year and beyond.

Anchor this new beginning by adding a symbolic object in your altar, and offering a prayer or song to the light and the coming Spring!

In the southern hemisphere it means we are approaching the longest day and the shortest night of the year after which we’ll welcome the dark of the fall and winter and the time of renewal.

Honor the sun as its light has brought nature to full ripeness and blossom. Create time to reflect on all the ways your life has flourished and notice the aspects of your life that still remain in the dreary dark. Light a candle or a sacred fire and illuminate those places in you that need to germinate and evolve. Bow to the sun in gratitude for its rays and welcome its perfect mate, the dark: open yourself to the mystery of the night and its transformative power as we start our six month journey to the longest night.

As a gift invite your loved ones to do the same on any of these holy days.

Many blessings!

Dear Ones -

So I just finished taking Iyanla Vanzant's six week e-course on forgiveness.

This is something I really needed to do for my life.

Forgiveness is a tough one for me, my friends. Believe me — I hold onto grievances HARD. These six weeks have been a great gift of learning and letting go for me.

I'm going to try to share with you some of the lessons I learned this week, in hopes that they are as useful to you as they have been to me...

What I want to talk about today is the question of why to forgive at all.

There was a wonderful moment in Iyanla's course, where a man called in with this question: "My wife lied to me, and cheated on me, and left me, and destroyed our family — but I still have to pay her alimony every month, and it makes me furious. Do I have to forgive her?"

Iyanla's response: "No! Absolutely not. You definitely do not have to forgive her. You can hold onto your anger forever. It's up to you."

It's a CHOICE. Forgiveness is not a requirement; it's a choice. You can forgive somebody, or you can hold on your anger forever. That's the choice. It's entirely up to you.

But at some point, you have to ask yourself whether that anger is really serving you — and if that's the energy force that you want to base your emotional life upon forever.

What do you lose by saying, "I am ready to let this anger go?"

Does it make you weaker, to let go of your anger and righteous indignation? Or does it make you stronger?

When I look at other people who are holding onto their anger, it is so clear to me that this energy is destroying them.

When I see other people who are holding onto their righteous indignation, refusing to let it go, it's completely obvious that they are not living a life of grace.

When I look at other people who live in the past, keeping their old grievances alive forever, it's so obvious that they are only hurting themselves.

When I observe the unbelievable courage and dignity and divinity of people who have forgiven others, it makes me want to bow down at their feet, and learn how to be so brave and so good.

And when people have forgiven ME for my misdeeds, I am so grateful — because we all long to be forgiven, and we all need to be forgiven.

So I knew all that.

And yet STILL, I held onto my own lack of forgiveness.

Yet STILL — even with all the evidence that forgiveness is an act of liberation, grace, courage, humanity, and the highest possible human evolution — I STILL wanted the privilege to hold onto MY anger forever, to keep MY righteous indignation alive forever, to keep MY grievances burning forever...

In other words, I could see easily how other people's lack of forgiveness harms the world, but I could not see how my own lack of forgiveness was harming ME.

That's because I was addicted to my own storyline — addicted to how wrong that other person was, addicted to how unfair that situation was, addicted to how right I was, addicted to how hurt I was.

Then I heard Iyanla say: "Refusal to forgive is an act of violence that you commit against yourself."

The only person who is harmed by your lack of forgiveness is YOU.

When you forgive somebody, you are not saying that you approve of their behavior. You are not saying that what they did was right. You are not saying that you will ever allow them to harm you again. You are not even saying that you would welcome them back into your life (and in many cases, that's not even an option — because sometimes the people whom we most need to forgive are long dead.)

You are only saying that you will not allow your anger and your pain to control your life anymore. Because your anger and your pain are poison. Even if they are "justified", they are poisonous to your heart. And when you refuse to forgive somebody, they will control your life and hold ownership over your emotions forever — even if they are dead, or even if you haven't spoken to them for years.

Many times, we don't want to forgive somebody because we don't want to bless them. But your act of forgiveness HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. Your act of forgiveness is a gift of courage and liberation that you give to yourself. It's a blessing you offer yourself.

It's not about what they deserve; it's about what you deserve.

Because you want to be FREE.

So this is where the difficult journey toward forgiveness begins — with the idea that you deserve to be free.

Just learning that — these basic notions — I could already feel myself softening.

Because that's all I really want — to be FREE.

Throughout the week, I will keep talking about this subject.

But I wonder if some of you might share your own stories and thoughts and questions about forgiveness here today?

Let us teach each other, and learn from each other...

:)

All my love, and ONWARD,
LG

For All My Relations

Always give before you take.

It could be a gift, the to***co, a prayer, a song, whatever you have. Give first before receiving.

Always be kind.

You never know the journey someone else has had to take, and they don't know yours. We all have burdens. If we are kind we lighten all our loads.

Always be in prayer.

Thank the Creator for your life and for all life on this beautiful Mother Earth. Our time is short, but we can make our mark last forever.

Always live in your purpose.

If you don't know what it is, then serve. Serve others and your purpose will find you. But serve as a warrior, not as a slave. Serve to strengthen others through your example, do not weaken them by doing everything for them.

Always honour the hoop.

We live together, we die together, we laugh together and we cry together. No one is higher, no one is lower.

Always speak in your true voice.

There is strength in you the world has never seen. Show your strength. Build it. Use it to create peace and as a blessing to those around you.

Always drink clean water

Water is Mother Earth's milk. Drink deeply many times a day and clean your body.

Always exercise your body.

You have been given a vessel to house your spirit. Treat it with the deepest respect and give it the gift of health, stamina, and endurance.

Always sleep deeply.

Sleep long and sleep deep, for it is in your dreams inspiration comes. Give the Creator ample time to speak to you.

Always, always love yourself.

If you will find one good thing about yourself and another and another, you will learn to fulfill your purpose. And when you love yourself, you will know how to honestly love another.

Hiy hiy.

Do Not Despair!
Evil is not created through outside forces any more than light is created through outside forces. Light and dark is a balance that humanity has the ability to pull in either direction. Did you hear that? You can go as dark as you want or as light as you want, and you have always had that ability. This is the duality that you have seen through your history, forever. However, you are in a situation where you have now come out of a barbarian age - thousands of years of conquering and killing and war - and you've turned a corner.

Again, I say to you: Do not despair! Generate the light that you came in with and stand tall and out of fear.
