What gives you that Friday feeling?

If you work a Monday-Friday type of job, or if you are a parent who works at home and your kids leave every day for school, or if you attended school in your youth....

You may know what the Friday Feeling is....

To me, Friday tastes like my daughter's homemade chocolate cake with buttercream icing. Sugar, energy and zing.

I love Friday just because of that yummy feeling. I like to take a moment to stop, turn inward, and enjoy it.

Noticing the ebb and flow of feelings without judgement helps us make sense of our inner world and calm our nervous system.

Thanks for stopping here with me :)

I woke up this morning with a bubbly lightness in my chest. I couldn't wait to get my coffee and sit for a few moments of reflection. Today I am thinking about change.

We all underestimate how hard change is, because we can't imagine what different experiences feel like until we do them.

Remember, if you are embarking on a change, you may have moments of doubt, fear, frustration, and regret.

It doesn't necessarily mean you made the wrong turn; rather, it may mean you are invested in your new path.

Growing Valley Counselling & Therapy has been overwhelming for me at times. But I wake up excited each morning to work with amazing clients and colleagues, and I am discovering that I love learning how to run a business as well.

Most meaningful change is not easy, and there may be some foundational struggle in the early stages... but recognizing that this struggle is an intrinsic part of your evolution and growth is a healthy way to get through the discomfort!

And.... When I start to overthink (which is the thing that causes us the most struggle) Cleo reminds me that some movement and fresh air helps to shift whatever is stuck.

The age-old SIGH with a dash of MINDFULNESS!!
I was deleting things to clear up storage on my google drive and came across a video I made for a client months ago and thought I would share. Breathwork is the foundation of nervous system regulation. There are so many types of breathing strategies, and they are all wonderful... but the simple belly breath with looong exhale is still my own personal go-to for calming multiple times a day.
