Ever wonder what the Special Olympics logo represents? This symbol connects SO programs around the world, including right here in Grand Forks, and stands as the most recognized mark of inclusion on the planet. 🌎

The five figures forming a circle symbolize global unity, but the arms tell the story: arms down reflect the challenges athletes face, arms at shoulder height represent equality and inclusion, and arms raised high celebrate achievement. 🏅

The moving circle embodies progress, solidarity, and the belief that every individual can shine. ✨

Our hearts are full after meeting with the Grand Forks Senior Society Bingo Committee 💖🙌

We are deeply moved to be among the first recipients of their gaming fund, receiving a $200 donation to support our athletes 🏅✨

It is so inspiring to see the success of their Sunday Bingo sessions translated into such meaningful support for the community! This kindness truly means the world to everyone at Special Olympics BC Grand Forks 🤝🌎❤️

As we wrap up our winter sports and begin our new spring programs, we’re taking the opportunity to look back at the amazing community support that gets us where we need to go! ✨

To all our donors: Thank you! 🙏 Your support is what keeps us moving forward. A special thanks to the Phoenix Foundation for their past funding of our portable ramp. 💙

Equipment like this continues to be a game-changer for inclusion. It allows our athletes and others with mobility challenges to navigate stairs and vehicles with ease, ensuring the entire group stays together for every activity. 🏅

We are grateful for tools that allow us to break down barriers in every season! 🙌🏽

It’s a busy month for our athletes and volunteers!

Last Call:
Bowling, Swimming, and Club Fit will be finished at the end of March. 🎳🏊‍♀️🏋🏽‍♀️

Spring/Summer Programs:
We start back up right after the Easter weekend! ☀️🌷

Bocce (Mondays): 3:45–4:45 PM at Perley Grounds, starting April 13. 🟢

Bocce (Wednesdays): 1:00–2:00 PM at Gyro Park, starting April 8. 🔴

Golf (Mondays): 12:30–2:00 PM at Christina Lake Golf Club, starting April 13. ⛳

Softball (Thursdays): 4:30–6:00 PM at Dick Bartlett #1, starting April 9. ⚾

**Programs will run on their regular schedule throughout Spring Break**

Competitions:

❄️ This Sunday is our Special Olympics BC Grand Forks Polar Plunge fundraiser at Grand Central Car Wash!! 🧊✨ Free registration begins at noon for anyone who wants to participate!! Lunch by donation at 12:30 🌭☕️ and the Plunge kicks off at 1:00 with a walk through the car wash or a dip in our icy plunge tank!! 🥶🚿

The best part? Some of our AMAZING Christina Lake Fire Fighters will be joining us in the Plunge!! 🧑‍🚒🚒

Fun Fact: half of our volunteer coaches and many of our Special Olympics athletes live in or grew up at Christina Lake!! 🌊💙

Whether you want to plunge or just spectate, come out and support this amazing cause!! See you there!! 🥳✨
