We were honored this year to have our first live auction - the first item being a beautiful quilt made by the talented Dori Mark! It was a sweet nod to how good undergarments are like good friends - we show up during hard times to uplift and support each other.💗

The quilt was generously purchased by Kim Arseneault, breast cancer survivor and speaker at the event last year. If you are lucky enough to know Kim, you know how beautiful she is inside and out. When she purchased the quilt she was asked why she bought it, this was her response:

“When I was diagnosed 16 years ago with cancer, some of my dearest friends had made me a quilt. That quilt brought me such comfort on some of my worst days. So when I sat down at my assigned fundraiser table, I met an elderly woman who proceeded to share that she had recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and was awaiting surgery and treatments. She appeared to be so scared and worried, and it took me back to my time of diagnosis. When I saw the beautiful quilt that was going to be live auctioned, I really felt that she needed it more than anyone else there. I pray that all the positive energy that was in that room that night went home in that quilt and that she gets great comfort from it.”

There wasn’t a dry eye in the room. 🥹💗

Whether it’s new friends or old, the sentiment is the same. Good friends are like good undergarments - they will uplift and support you through the hard times.💖

We couldn’t be more proud to be a part of this kind, courageous, and supportive community and hope that Kim’s act of kindness will inspire you to keep paying it forward! 🥹😊💞

Each year, we invite local women in our community to the stage to share the stories of their personal journey through breast cancer.

This year, we are pleased to announce that Dr. Ansie Capon and Marianne Hartman will be taking the stage to speak from experience.💗

Thank you both for your support and vulnerability in what will be an inspirational, emotional, and empowering evening. 💞
