Meet April’s female entrepreneur of the month Sarah Zoldy, owner of Rock-a-Reborn Therapeutic Babies Mobile Service. She is a bilingual Sudbury native and a mother of 2 teenagers.
Her past careers as a personal support worker and a developmental services/special needs worker came about because she is a natural at caring for others. She has over 20 years of experience helping people of all different ages and backgrounds and attending to their broad range of needs. In addition, Sarah is also a Certified Reiki and Access Consciousness Practitioner. This ancient therapy is an energy-based approach to healing. As a reiki practitioner, Sarah can provide a therapeutic service which helps promote the replenishment and restoration of energy flow and balance in clients. This, in turn, helps their body's innate ability to heal itself. This natural therapy can be used alone or to aid in the effects of medical therapies.
Being from a family of entrepreneurs, Sarah always knew that she would one day have her own business. Having learned from her parents about money and budgeting skills and how to be a responsible, respectful, and honest individual would later help her to become the businesswoman she is today. Sarah wanted to start a business in which she could continue offering meaningful services and began thinking about how to expand upon her therapeutic offerings. She also wanted to be able to provide a new and unique concept, one that was not offered in the Sudbury region. The idea finally came to her in an unexpected way.
In 2018, Sarah had a hysterectomy, a procedure that is familiar to many women. And, like many women, the experience brought about an array of emotions, including the desire to feel the comfort of holding a newborn baby again. This desire prompted Sarah to purchase her first Reborn baby. She knew that by doing so, she would be able to experience the therapeutic benefits whenever she needed them. In addition to the positive effects brought to her by the Reborn, she discovered that those around her also found the experience of holding a life-like newborn doll to be overwhelmingly positive. And so, in her quest to support her own well-being, she discovered a unique avenue to help others as well, and this is what prompted her to start Rock-a-Reborn Therapeutic Babies Mobile Service. Her business offers a collection of beautiful Reborn babies to those in need of companionship, comfort, and support. Her favourite part of offering her services is that they bring joy and a sense of well-being to those in need.
