I came across this photo of me from the fall of 2013 that I had forgotten about, and the first thing I said to myself was..."look at that lazy foot on the bind!"...hmmm?

I struggle with perfectionism. 😕

All my life I thought that if I was perfect, then people would like me. The more I tried to be perfect, the more Lucille Ball moments I had. Spinach stuck in my teeth when I smiled at the cute guy, tripping as I walked across the stage during a ballet performance, walking into a big job interview with my skirt tucked into my pantyhose. Hahaha. All pretty funny now, but at the time pretty devastating, only solidifying my belief that I would never be perfect. 😪

The two years prior to that picture were spent recovering from a complete body breakdown, where every step was painful and yet required. My yoga practice was my saving grace. It taught me many things. One of them is that imperfect is who we all really are, and that is where the beauty lies. 💝(Side note: there is no getting 'good' at yoga)

I could barely do the simplest of movements in my every day, and this picture was is where I was two years later. I fell into the trap of criticizing what I thought I was doing 'wrong' and not seeing what I had accomplished and only saw what I didn't. So I'm posting this picture of me as a reminder to myself all it's glory!

That was a very long time ago and I've come a long way. The power and strength I gained could not be gotten any other way and for that I am grateful 🙏

As entrepreneurs, business owners, leaders, we have a drive to get somewhere and that perfectionism streak runs deep. And we all know it.....

This post is a gentle reminder to be kind to yourself. On this Valentine's weekend, you get to be on the list of who you express your love to as well. Take a minute for that🥰

I have taught and practiced in many locations over the years.....lots of those spaces were not pretty, serene, blissful spaces. Thank goodness our Connected Living Yoga and Wellness studio on Long Lake Rd is blissful, and serene.
But no matter where I have taught, one of my goals is to infuse the space with love for any and all.
