Why do I love Reflexology?
I am often asked this question, by those who have not experienced it before, once you have you will know!
There are so many shifts I get to witness as a result of a 60 min session. This particular feedback that I am sharing comes from two clients who came for the Detox and Destress package. One of the clients has been sick for 3 weeks and just feeling unable to shake it off. The second client’s feedback speaks for itself. I always follow up with clients after their first session or if they are existing clients trying a new treatment plan. Reflexology is like an onion; it allows the body to release and unfold what is needed when the body feels safe to do so. One of the most rewarding things is watching someone walk in stressed and leave feeling lighter! Would you like to know what happens during a session?

I am so excited to have opened Meraki Integrated Wellness! I am now a Certified Foundational Reflexologist and I have fallen in love with this treatment. What is reflexology? Reflexology works to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes. It acts on all parts of the body by stimulating the corresponding reflexes. It targets areas that are congested and have inhibited function; areas that have not been cleared by the venous circulation or lymph system. Did you know there are 7000 nerve endings found in the human foot? A reflexology treatment is deeply relaxing and helps relieve tension, stress and anxiety and improve circulation.

I have worked as a BScN prepared Registered Nurse for the past 26 years! I have had the opportunity to care for the whole life cycle and I have been blessed to be a part of so many lives. The one thing that was missing for me in Nursing was a health care model. I feel as though our current medical model is so focussed on illness care. This brings me to today. I have been on a journey for the past year and a half to find out where I can promote health and be a part of one’s health journey. This has inspired my career change and this learning has been so exciting and inspirational for me!
A bit more about me if you have time!
I have a love of nature and feel connected and relaxed when I spend time there. I love the fine arts. I dabble in water colour painting, and love fabrics; sewing, stitching and creating with these mediums. I have always utilized alternative healing methods to support my health and the health of my family. I dream that modern medicine could embrace and utilize alternative health practices; we need the support of both in this journey. Why have I called my business Meraki Integrated Wellness? Meraki means to do something with soul, creativity, or love; to put something of yourself into your work. I don’t believe there is any other way to serve. I am currently certified in Foundational Reflexology and am studying in an Integrated Medicine and Reflexology Diploma Program. This will allow me to add many more interesting, supportive and holistic modalities to my practice to better serve you.
