IMPORTANT UPDATE: For years we have offered direct billing to insurance providers as an extra service to make paying for treatment more convenient. This practice started well before the ease of access to insurance companies via mobile apps and websites. Long gone are the days of having to drive downtown to the Blue Cross offices to have your claim reimbursed or mailing in packages of receipts via Canada Post!

As our office has grown, the administrative cost of offering this service has increased as well. As healthcare providers, we believe that you seek care with our RMTs because of the results you get. We also place value on ensuring that our rates remain affordable at a time when the cost of living has been skyrocketing. In evaluating our business practices, it has been decided that starting SEPTEMBER 1, 2025, we will be discontinuing direct billing to all insurance providers (with the exception of Veterans’ Affairs and a small handful of MVI claims).

What does this mean for you? Most insurers have a mobile app or website where you can submit your receipts. Reimbursement is often within 24 hours. Over the next few months, please go to your insurer’s website and download the app. Make sure your payment details are available to them (for direct deposit or cheque). We will then email your receipt at the time of payment so you can easily upload it to their site. (Hot tip: Keep your receipts in an email folder for ease of access later on). As mentioned, you can expect to have the money back in your account often within 24-48 hours.

If you have questions about this change, please let us know. Our focus will remain on provision of care at the high level of quality and effectiveness you have come to know us for.

To access eClaims with insurance providers, please go to their website and search for the app information or page pertaining to claim submissions. Likewise, you can go to Google Play or the Apple Store and search for your insurer. When possible, we’ll do our best to help you get set up on the app so you can work directly with your insurance company starting September 1.

A 2020 study explored how Visceral Manipulation (VM) helped people with adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder)—and the results were remarkable:
