We had the pleasure of attending the Greater Golden Horseshoe Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Awards in Hamilton, beautifully hosted and organized by Evelyn Myrie of Empower Strategy Group, a respected community leader and advocate whose work continues to strengthen equity and belonging across our region.

It was a great gathering that brought together leaders, changemakers and community builders from across the region.

A true highlight was hearing from the Honourable Dr Jean Augustine, Canada‘s first Black woman elected to Parliament and a lifelong champion for education, equity and social justice. Her words were uplifting with groundbreaking work and lifelong commitment to equity which continues to inspire us all. Her words on leadership, resilience and community empowerment deeply resonated.

Grateful for spaces like this that celebrate excellence, amplify diverse voices and strengthen our communities .

Remembering Our Heroes.
Today, The Vine Care joins Canadians across the nation in remembering the courage and sacrifice of those who served and continue to serve our country.
Their strength and selflessness remind us of the values we hold close: community, compassion, and care for one another.
As we pause for a moment of silence, we honour not only the heroes who gave their lives, but also the families and caregivers who stood beside them with unwavering love and resilience.
We remember. We honour. We are grateful.

What do you make of this art?
What we see is often shaped by what we read into it: our experiences, beliefs, and even our moods. Two people can look at the same picture, the same situation, and walk away with completely different meanings.
Let us remind ourselves daily to look with empathy, patience, and hope because what we choose to see shapes our opinion and attitudes towards others.

🇳🇬✨ Nigeria @ 65!
We proudly raised the Nigerian flag at Hamilton City Hall to celebrate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day — with the Honourable Mayor of Hamilton, diverse country communities, and amazing supporters.

The Vine Care joins in celebrating with the Nigerian community and making the day special! 💚🇳🇬

We had the privilege of touring the brand-new, beautiful Amica Credit Mills today! It was such a joy catching up with the lovely manager, Ann Marie Faria—our conversations over the past year have been nothing short of inspiring.
We also hung out with Councilor Martin Reid of Ward 9 Mississauga who always makes it a point to show up in person for his community, and one of our collaborating partners Tresha Wallace (Executive Director of Ubuntu Legacy Community Care, who Amica has generously provided space for in the building).

It is inspiring to see what is happening in our community, especially when it supports our older adults, whom we love to love and serve.

We had a blast a last month supporting older adults at one of the Peel Senior Link centres, providing education and recreation. It was so much fun they wanted us to come every week.
Thank you Fran for opening your doors. Thanks to our volunteers Aya and Juliet for stepping up and helping out.

What an amazing day spent celebrating our wonderful team at our 2025 annual picnic! 💕 We had so much to eat, drink, shared laughs, exchanged gifts, raffles and heartfelt words of appreciation.
It was beautiful to see how much love and gratitude our staff have for The Vine Care and for one another.

A big thank you to every member of our team for your dedication, compassion and hard work - Thank you for working with Loving Hearts and Tender Hands, always 💕❤️
