World Health Day – April 7
Health doesn’t begin at birth.
It begins long before conception.
At the Waterbirth Coalition of Canada, we recognize that preconception health, pregnancy wellness, and postpartum recovery are all deeply connected—and all equally important.
A healthy pregnancy is not created in isolation. It is shaped by:
• The physical and emotional health of the mother
• The strength and support of the birthing environment
• And importantly, the health of the father
Emerging research continues to show that paternal health plays a vital role in fertility, pregnancy outcomes, and the long-term health of a child. Nutrition, lifestyle, stress levels, and overall wellbeing of both parents matter.
From the earliest moments of planning…
To pregnancy, birth, and beyond…
Health is a shared responsibility.
Today, on World Health Day, we encourage families, care providers, and communities to prioritize whole-family wellness—before, during, and after pregnancy.
Because creating life begins with caring for our own.

March 25 – National Day of the Unborn Child 🤍

Today, we take a moment to honour the lives growing quietly, powerfully, and beautifully within the womb.

Each unborn child represents possibility, hope, and a story just beginning. They are already deeply connected to their families, already loved, and already worthy of care, dignity, and protection.

At Waterbirth Coalition of Canada, we believe that how life begins matters. Supporting gentle, respectful, and informed birth experiences is one way we honour both baby and mother from the very beginning.

Waterbirth offers a calm, supported entry into the world, creating an environment that respects the natural process of birth while prioritizing safety, comfort, and connection.

Today is not only about recognizing the unborn child, but also about uplifting the parents who carry, nurture, and advocate for them every single day.

Let us continue to protect, support, and honour life at every stage.

World Pregnancy Day 🤍

Today we honour the strength, beauty, and power of pregnancy — a journey that is deeply personal, transformative, and deserving of respect.

At Waterbirth Coalition of Canada, we believe every person deserves the right to make informed choices about their body, their care, and their birth experience.

Whether you choose to labour on land or in water, your voice matters. Your comfort matters. Your birth matters.

Let’s continue to advocate for compassionate, evidence-based care and environments where families feel safe, supported, and empowered.

Your Body. Your Birth. Your Way.

International Women’s Day is a powerful moment to celebrate the strength, resilience, and leadership of women everywhere — and at Waterbirth Canada, this day holds very special meaning for us.

Waterbirth Canada is proudly owned and operated by three strong, independent Canadian women who share a deep passion for supporting mothers, protecting physiological birth, and improving birth options across our country. Together, we are working to educate, advocate, and expand access to waterbirth and gentle birth practices so that women and families can make informed choices about how they welcome their babies into the world.

Our mission is rooted in respect for women’s bodies, women’s voices, and women’s autonomy. We believe that birth is a powerful, transformative experience, and every woman deserves access to compassionate care, evidence-based education, and supportive environments that honour her instincts and her choices.

Through education, professional training, community advocacy, and collaboration with birth workers across Canada, we are committed to helping create a future where women feel empowered, informed, and supported throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Today we celebrate the incredible women who lead, nurture, advocate, teach, and birth the next generation.

Happy International Women’s Day from Waterbirth Canada.
Strong women supporting women — and changing birth in Canada. 💜💧
