Our mission is to provide affordable and accessible one-on-one swimming instruction to children with special needs. Hey SWAMily, we are hiring!! 🐳

Swimming With A Mission (SWAM) is a student-run organization that provides affordable swimming lessons for children with disabilities!

If YOU want to help us make a MEANINGFUL difference in the Hamilton community, we would love to see you apply to be apart of the SWAM Hamilton’s 2025/2026 executive team! 🩵

We are looking for:
2 head instructors
1 parent liaison
1 financial coordinator
2 promotions coordinators
1 outreach coordinator

You do not need prior SWAM experience to apply! Check the link in the application form for more details about each role. 🔗

Yesterday our instructors and executive team members had a lovely meeting with Tayler, a recreational therapist! Tayler provided amazing education on her work experiences with her clients and provided us with resources and information to better our approach to working with our students! Thank you Tayler for dedicating your time to sharing such amazing information with us we had a SWAMtastic time🩵🐳

We also want to thank everyone who has helped support SWAM this 2024 Fall session. From the success of our bake sale, the constant support from our swimmers and their families to our amazing instructors who join us every week with a smile on their face, and our executive team who lets our passions and mission become a reality. We could not do it without each and every one of you! Happy Holidays from our SWAMily to yours and we cannot wait to see you in the new year 🫶🐳

Introducing our AMAZING INSTRUCTORS!! Our lessons would not be possible without their passion and dedication.

🐟Cassidy: I’m super excited to be a part of SWAM and I guess a fact about me is I’m originally from BC! I recently got into reading, have been swimming my entire life and am a huge lover of movies/tv shows.

🐟Veronica: I am a returning instructor with SWAM and I am very excited to be running another year of lessons!

🐟Jessica: I’m excited to meet all my students and get back into the water teaching the sport I love! This will be my first time volunteering with swam and I can’t wait to get started! In my free time I love thrifting, watching movies, travelling and hanging out with friends!

🐟Mary: I’m Mary and this is my first year teaching at SWAM! I’m most excited to teach a brand new set of kids and have fun. One fun fact about me is that I used to be a competitive Irish dancer!

🐟Cassie: This is my first year as a SWAM instructor so I am super excited to meet everyone and have a blast in the pool! I love horseback riding and am a member of the McMaster Equestrian Team. I also enjoy doing arts and crafts and making handmade cards!!

🐟Ida: Hey everyone, I’m Ida and I’m in my first year of Life Sciences! I’m so excited to be working with SWAM this year. I love dogs, being outside and swimming, and I can’t wait to be back in the pool as an instructor :)

🐟Harnaz: Hey everyone! My name is Harnaz, and I am thrilled to be back as an instructor for this amazing non-profit. I can’t wait to share smiles in the pool while teaching new swimmers this year! :)

🐟Rebecca: I’m a new instructor with SWAM but I’ve been instructing for years. I’m excited to meet new people and expand my experience working with children who have disabilities

🐟Liv: This is my first year working with SWAM and I’m super excited!! I love swimming so much and can’t wait to help our swimmers grow! Some of my hobbies are wakeboarding, skiing and Snooties Karaoke:)

🐟Maya: Hi, I’m Maya! I have been teaching swimming for over 5 years to swimmers of all ages and abilities. This is my first session teaching with SWAM and I am so, so exicted! Fun Fact: I have a dog named, Henry!
