Your nervous system is like your body’s personal electrical grid — always working behind the scenes to keep everything connected and running smoothly. ✨
It takes in info from the world around you, sends it to your brain + spine, and helps your body decide what to do next — sometimes on purpose (like choosing to move), and sometimes automatically (like your heartbeat).
A few wild facts:🧠 Your brain has 100 billion neurons👶🏽 Babies grow neurons at a rate of 250,000 per minute in the womb↔️ The right brain controls the left body, and vice versa
Now let’s talk about your two “autopilot” modes:⚡️ Sympathetic nervous system = Fight or flight. It kicks in when you're stressed or in danger. Your heart races, energy spikes, and blood rushes to where it’s needed most. It’s powerful… but not meant to be “on” all the time.
🌿 Parasympathetic nervous system = Rest and digest. This is where healing happens. Your body rebalances, calms, and repairs. This is why deep rest is so important. Reiki, for example, helps your body shift into this deeply relaxed, healing state.
Your body knows how to heal. Sometimes, it just needs the space to do so. 🌙✨
