šŸ“µI guess it's time to dust off that book you didn’t finish, see how it ends

ā˜•ļø Sit and relax and enjoy an extra cup of coffee

šŸŽ¶ Turn up your music and tidy that pile of stuff that’s been chillin in the corner for most of the summer months 🤣 ( my entry/ mudroom)

šŸŽ²šŸƒ Kids at home, dust off those board games. Just be prepared for some serious arguments and the occasional flipped table. šŸŽ²šŸ˜” Better yet send them outside or tell them to build a fort surrounded in booby-traps. If their being little jerks make them clean their rooms 🤣

šŸ¢šŸ“  Remember the good old days when we had to wait for that dial-up connection? Ah, the sweet sound of screeching modems and the patience…in perspective to that a few hours without it isn’t so bad

šŸŒšŸ”Œ So, instead of sitting and staring at your modem or waiting for your feed to load embrace your unplugged adventure and have a super productive am instead. Who knows, we might even survive without it... temporarily! 😜

Can we talk about insecurities for a quick sec?!

An older family member said to me : ā€œThere goes all your hard work to get your body backā€.😬 cringey I know.
I didn’t react to her. But here’s my thoughts:

Almost every person on earth , has an insecurity about SOMETHING. To tall-not tall enough, to fat-to skinny, freckles-no freckles, curly hair-straight hair, skin, knowledge, fingers to long, a longer second toe …. Whatever it may be they are LOUD.

Thankfully as most of us age we start to the realize that…
1. You realize that the thing that was bothering you was kind of silly and it just stops bothering you
2. You realize you’re the ONLY one that actually pays attention to that thing
3. You work really hard mentally and physically to learn how to manage or change the thing that bothers you.(this is an ongoing battle that for some will ALWAYS take work)
4. That insecurity rings loud in your mind for a really really long time.

Me šŸ™‹šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø: growing up I was never pretty enough, smart enough, in shape enough. I hated my body. My hair was to thick, my legs were always scratched and bruised, I was clumbsy, I was fat, my b***s weren’t big enough…
It’s really crazy the things that can run through your mind.

When I turned 30, I finally choose number 3 - I worked my ass off to change myself physically, which at the time was my main goal. But it morphed into so much more. Mentally it changed everything about me- my confidence, how I carried myself, how I spoke up, how I reacted to people, how I reacted to new experiences. I looked at those things I didn’t like and realized they made me unique. I embraced them and then started teaching other women how to flip that switch and work on their mindset just as much as they worked on their physical.

I started working out solely to lose weight. It was the ONLY thing I wanted.
8 years of consistency later and it’s not about the scale anymore.
My life goal is to be that old women riding her bike past a group of mid 30 year olds and have them say ā€œ you see that old chick, just givin’er up that hillā€!
( I saw a women like this in Utah once, she was late 60’s and she was putting on protective gear like a hockey player. When we chatted with her she said I can’t still do it , I just go slower, and have to be smarter then she knocked on her shin pads she was strapping on). That moment is burned in my brain.

So now my almost 40 goals are:
I want energy
I want health
I want endurance
I want strength
I want vitality
I want healthy hormones

I want to age gracefully, and not give a $h1t about the scale.

And as I age older and older :
I want bone density
I want energy
I want to be able to stand up by myself
I want to be able to push my own grocery cart
I want to be able to hang with eventual grandkids who won’t be afraid to bump into me and fear breaking me.
My goal - Don’t look like a frail old women who could be taken out by a strong breeze…for as long as possible.

Earning trips is a huge perk šŸ˜„ When I signed up 8 years ago to lose weight I would have never imagined I would earn (multiple) tropical trips.
You hear it all the time - if I can do this, anyone can- I mean it 100%. I am not a HUGE coach, I don’t have a huge team or massive following- and Im qualifying for FREE.
I am real, I am genuine and I really want my customers to love their experience with me as their coach and with BODi.
I’m a little sad that I’m not there at the same time as my coach buddies, but I’m so excited I will be there with my main squeeze for four much needed beach days.

How many coffee, tea, pop or energy drinks do you drink on average??

I generally avoid coffee during the week days and enjoy it on the weekends. But lately Ive been sippin’ daily and my goal this week was to taper it back off.
Lots of times people say they tried cutting back on caffeine and JUST CAN’T :) Here’s how I do it:

DON’T do it cold turkey, you’ll feel like crap and most likely won’t stick to it for long!

Side effects with a sudden stop can be mild to severe, depending on your regular intake. And you will start to feel it within hours.

* Dizziness/ light-headedness
* Fatigue
* Headache
* Irritability
* Mental fogginess
* Nausea
* Negative mood

Pick your start date

Every few days use smaller cups. This give you less BUT if your like me and a visual person, a smaller cup full to the top still seems better then a big huge cup with that same amount. It’ll give the illusion to your eyes and brain that you’re still getting a full cup in the am.

Start doing half caff. Stick to it for a week and pay attention to how you’re feeling - any symptoms?. If not, go to full decaf.

Pick a cutoff time, ie: no caffeine after 10:00 or 12:00

Make sure your sipping water all day to help with hydration and to help fight those throbbing headaches

If you HIT it hard and drink 3-5+ cups a day, you’re going to want to roll back slower, start by only replacing one cup with a half cup for the first two weeks. Then, after another two weeks, only 2 cups, and so on. It may take longer but if you rely solely on caffeine to function it’s going to take you longer to roll it back.
