Wellness Wednesday Tip!

Start before you feel ready.
You don’t need to feel 100% prepared to take the first step. Whether it’s procrastination or anxiety holding you back, starting small can help build momentum and make things feel more manageable.

Try this today:
➡️ Pick one small step
➡️ Set a timer (even 5–10 minutes!)
➡️ Just begin — progress grows from action
You’ve got this 💙

Foundry Kamloops is here to support youth on their wellness journey and we’re growing to meet that need. If you’re able, consider supporting our Capital Campaign to help expand access to youth mental health and substance use services in our community.

Myth vs. Fact

Myth: STI testing is scary and uncomfortable
Fact: It’s actually quick, confidential, and totally normal

Taking care of your sexual health is just another part of taking care of you. At Foundry Kamloops, testing is provided in a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space, so you can feel comfortable asking questions and getting the care you need.

Wellness Wednesday Tip

The way you talk to yourself matters.

When negative thoughts show up, try to pause and reframe your self-talk. Instead of being your biggest critic, ask yourself: “What would I say to a friend in this situation?” Then offer that same kindness to yourself.

Small shifts in how you think can make a big difference in how you feel.

Want to help make that support possible?
Consider donating to the Foundry Kamloops Capital Campaign and be part of creating a space where young people can access the care and connection they deserve. Donate here: interiorcommunityservices.bc.ca/fundraising

Foundry Kamloops is seeking Family Physicians to join our new integrated youth service hub opening at 540 Seymour St this summer.

As a Foundry Kamloops physician, you’ll be part of an interdisciplinary team working together to provide low-barrier, free, and confidential care for youth aged 12–24 and their caregivers. From physical and sexual health to mental health, substance use support, and social services—this is care that meets young people where they’re at and supports them to live a good life.

Why join Foundry Kamloops?
• Work alongside an interdisciplinary team: family physician, nurse practitioner, counsellors, peer support workers and staff from many partner organizations.
• Be part of a prevention focused service model that removes barriers and transforms access to youth care.
• Flexible schedule, highly competitive payment range, clinical services contract administered via IHA.
• Opportunities to grow your skills and knowledge in areas such as youth mental health, substance use, and gender-affirming care.

We would welcome enthusiastic physicians to consider joining in any FTE capacity. While the role is posted as 1.0 FTE, we encourage physicians to consider 0.2 - 0.4 FTE. This would be a perfect complement to a 1.0 FTE Nurse Practitioner alongside additional Interior Health supports.

This is a dynamic opportunity to make meaningful impact! Come explore our proactive and collegial environment and make a lasting impact in the lives of young people in our community. For more info visit: https://www.trdfp.ca/work-here/opportunities/

Wellness Wednesday Tip!

Spring is a season of fresh starts and a great reminder that you can start fresh, too.

If you’ve been feeling stuck or low, try something simple: get outside and take in some fresh air. A short walk, a few minutes in the sun, or just stepping outside can help boost your mood, clear your mind, and reset your day.

Small changes can make a big difference.

At Foundry Kamloops, we’re all about creating spaces where youth can feel supported, connected, and inspired to take those next steps. Want to help bring that space to life?
