Hi Friend,

It's been awhile. My life lately has been a series of advancing and retreating.

For years I've had all the tools in my toolbox. I've been able to manage anxiety to a level many may not have even been aware. But over the last few months and a series of events, I made the decision to seek professional help.

I've been quite here because I am working hard on myself and then got to the point where I felt like a fraud and quite honestly didn't know how to explain my absence or how to come back at all.

We've all had more time lately with the state of our current crisis and I decided to just get out of my own way.

I hope that you will contue to follow me on this journey. ❀

I often get asked 'What's your favourite book on Pelvic Health?". The answer is simple: Pelvic Liberation by Leslie Howard. I've probably read it 3 times 😏.⁠

To train in person with Leslie is on my bucket list. I've done some online trainings with her, but nothing beats the connection of face to face.⁠

I have to tell you something.

If you’re waiting to be flexible to come to a yoga class, you’re actually doubting your body’s abilities. But I believe in you! You don’t need to be flexible to come to class. Yoga is so much more than flexibility. All non-flexible people (yes, YOU!) are invited to my Gentle Yoga classes Tuesday evenings 645pm .

It's offical, the backyard doesn't look like this any longer ☃. But that doesn't mean you can't goof around on a stability ball.

I love the stability ball to connect with the movement of the pelvic floor and breath. With these movements you can feel the glide of the sitz bones. Bring awareness to the sitz bones and noticed their movement and you move through đŸ±/🐼. You may noticed when you come to cow the sitz bones move away from one another and together during cat. Movement of the stiz bones is a great exercise for the pelvic floor muscles.

How does the breath naturally link with these movements? Is there a way that you can use breath and the movement of the pelvic floor to further enhance cat/cow?

Someone once told me here are four different types of people in this world — lifters, thrusters, weights, and drags.⁠
⁠
Lifters are people who lift you up when you spend time with them. You feel good about yourself when you leave that person.⁠
⁠
Thrusters are people who encourage you to be a better person. You are challenged to change when you leave that person.⁠
⁠
Weights are people who bring you down with the weight of his or her problems. You spend most of your time trying to fix their issues.⁠
⁠
And drags are people who bring you down to their level. You spend time commiserating with their victimhood, while being persuaded to dislike all the people, places, and things that bring “problems” into their life.⁠
⁠
This year I've been consciously focusing on supporting others and being a lifter and thruster.⁠
⁠

đŸ„„Sitz Bones SpoonsđŸ„„

One of my all-time favourites to offer to all clients, especially prenatal and those with pelvic health concerns.

From table help on foot forward and place towards to outside of the mat. You can bring the hand to blocks as well. Now here's the magic, imagine you are going to make your most favourite dessert and you need to mix the batter. Visualize that your Sitz bones are the spoons and start taking circles to mix your cookies, cake whatever your ❀ desires.

This movement can help you access sensation through the transverse perineal muscle.
