New Years is fast upon us and with 2020 just behind us who wouldn’t be planning every possible thing they want to change ever? Put on some quarantine weight? Haven’t connected with your friends much? Drank too much? Kind of poor? Hey man, you’re definitely alone... but let’s take a look at resolutions.

Have you ever considered how much pressure you put on yourself by saying, when I wake up tomorrow I’m going to change everything about my life?! And are you making the same resolutions every year with no success?

Three years ago I tried something new. Instead of making a list of things I wanted to change and starting my year off on a negative, superficial note, I chose to make a list of good things that happened in the previous year. Things I accomplished, the little wins. There is nothing too small to make this list.

2020 may be a difficult year to see the good but it’s there. Make your only resolution finding gratitude it what you have been through and build on that!!

And IF YOU MUST, make “resolutions”, check how you speak to yourself. Don’t say “lose weight”, say “eat more vegetables”’ “get more sleep” or “walk more” or how about the best one “love myself the way I am”

Check how many things you’re trying to change. You do know January 1st is just another day right?

Tell us some 2020 wins!! What are you grateful for this past year?

In light of the recent Covid outbreaks and the new restrictions in the lower mainland we have decided to cancel our upcoming event 😔 As we excitedly prepared to announce the launch of a new series, we have decided to be leaders in taking the responsibility to be safe and take care of our community.

Please give us just a little more patience while we navigate a cool way to bring this event to you, in the safety of your home!

Be smart out there, be safe and most of all don’t forget to be kind. We are here for you in these uncertain times!

Bullying is a reflection of what’s inside of us. It is bred from fear and not understanding others. Some of us haven’t been taught how to properly communicate or further more, handle our emotions. This translates into anger that expresses itself as hurtful and demeaning words.

While it is important to understand that those who judge us or put us down are just revealing their own insecurities, it’s even more crucial to not what they say seriously.

We are all already fighting to control our own inner bully so there is no need to feed that voice with the negativity of others.

Society is conditioning us to believe that there is only one body type, one life path, one belief system and so much more but who gets to decide what that only is.

Learn to understand it’s ok to not understand or accept others choices. You don’t have to like everyone but you are not allowed to diminish them for their actions. Let others live their lives and direct your energy to your own existence.

And be kind, always.

When we’re hurt all we want to do is feel better, clearly. Have you ever found in moments of deep despair you feel so alone? You feel like your friends/partner aren’t giving you what you need when you ask for help? Like they don’t understand?

Well there is a good chance they aren’t or don’t because they don’t know how. Not all of us are conditioned to be supportive. While we may all WANT to be in our hearts sometimes our heads don’t know how.

Remind yourself that when you’re disappointed with how someone is trying to help, they are at least trying to help. We all give in the best way we know how to those we love, even though it may not be the best way they feel they need.

Fill your heart with the fact that it may not be perfect but it’s love. And never forget that while support and help from others is a wonderful thing, it is only you who can really take yourself all the way. What are ways you have found a way to be supportive? How have you been there for your squad?

Being alone vs Feeling alone 👊🏼

When we’re alone we feel the loneliest, but being alone is not what makes us lonely. When we have time with others and it’s not fulfilling we leave feeling less than where we started. We invest our energy into people and when it doesn’t feel reciprocated that feels like actual s**t.

In hospitality we are “on” all the time and for a lot of us that means faking it. We also are surround by recycled friends. Job hoppers who you connect with over partying who don’t last a hot minute.

Don’t forget that your life is full of people that care about you. We’re out there. Next time you feel hollow analyze your social life and check where you’re putting your energy. It’s quality over quantity here people. Can’t see your bestie for more than 10 minutes tomorrow? Don’t wait until you can spend hours together. Meet them on the street, hug the s**t out of them and do it again another day.

Watch that cup fill with REAL INTERACTION. Check that ego at the door and focus on real love. Cause real love is what’s gonna get you there.
