I gained 10lbs over Christmas 🙊
Yes you read that right, you’re probably wondering how I go here …
Well, Dec 18th I checked in and weighed in at 175 (days before my period so a couple lbs heavier than my usual)
Nothing out of the ordinary for me with that,
I was still hitting the gym & tracking my food…
Over the holidays, I preach alot about balance and moderation..
& while I full heartily believe in both of those things - I straight up did not follow that this year,
Christmas Eve Jeff & I hit the gym & then the feasts began
Quite literally, I went all out for our charcuterie board that evening and did not hold back Christmas Day either
Mimosas 🥂 & Land of Knod (like cinnamon buns) for Christmas Breakfast,
more charcuterie snacks all day, I made homemade turtles with Carmel & chocolate,
went full fat with heavy creams & butters for Christmas dinner,
Wine, Egg Nog, more chocolates 🍷🥛🍫
I didn’t even think about prioritizing protein or being mindful around treats 😳
And it didn’t stop there …
Boxing Day we went out to visit family, there was no gym where we were, plus not a lot of places to walk around
4 days of more snacks, booze & lack of movement
When we came home I checked in & I was up at 185lbs 🥵
10lbs up in 12 days 🫣 LOL
I feel like a lot of women would have freaked out seeing that number but guess what?
5 days later & I’m already down 6lbs
See I didn’t actually gain 10lbs over Christmas
But the free for all around food, booze & lack of movement caused a lot of water retention, bloating & a tinny bit of constipation
Which is why the scale said I gained 10lbs
& instead of freaking out, beating myself up & saying “I need to diet & lose weight this year”
I just got back to basics so if you put on a little bit of Christmas weight, I encourage you to do that same!
(I shared exact steps to getting back on track in my private Facebook community, if you want access to the steps, dm me “NEXT STEPS” & I’ll send you the link to join! )🫶
