BUT WHY ARE THERE SO MANY TYPES OF FILLER? | Great question. Even as a provider, it can be a lot to keep track of all the new formulas entering the market. There are different brands and then, under each brand, different formulas. As you may know, I personally love using Revanesse®, a Canadian HA filler brand. Under Revanesse®, there are formulas of different viscosities that all have slightly different purposes. Revanesse® Ultra™, Revanesse® Kiss™, Revanesse® Shape™, and Revanesse® Outline™—you don't need to know which formula you want when you book in. I'm here to guide and educate you so you feel confident in your choices.

LIP FILLER FOR DRY LIPS? | The goal of lip filler is not always volume. If you're lips are chronically dry, lip filler may be the answer you're looking for. Hyaluronic acid fillers like Revanesse® Kiss, which this patient was treated with, increases hydration because HA is a naturally occurring molecule that binds up to 1,000 times its weight in water. Once injected, it integrates into the lip tissue and attracts water molecules into the extracellular matrix, improving elasticity and moisture retention from within. This is why lips feel softer, smoother, and naturally more hydrated after treatment.

IMPORTANT REMINDER | This is your final call to book your cosmetic injections for 2025. And optimal results take time: neuromodulators (kick in anywhere between 5 to 14 days), dermal fillers (instant results, but may be swollen of bruised for a few of days), and Sculptra® (careful instructions for first 5 days post injections, results gradually visible over the next three months). “I just want lip filler — why would I need chin filler?” | Let me preface this by saying I will never upsell you on getting more filler than what you’re comfortable with. However, I will deny providing more filler if I believe it’s not in the best interest of the integrity of your facial anatomy. It’s my responsibility to consider your complete facial anatomy, rather than just an isolated feature. Facial balancing through holistic cosmetic injection treatments ensures all your features remain looking natural in relation to one another.

In other words, I may recommend a little chin filler to complement your lip filler for better profile balancing. Sometimes, treating the lips without addressing the chin can cause the chin to look recessed and unnatural. But do not panic if you’ve come to see me for lip filler and haven’t ever had chin filler — during your consult, I am actively looking at your overall facial anatomy. Sometimes adding just lip filler creates more balance, sometimes adding just chin filler creates more balance, and sometimes you need to call in the power couple. Questions? STRUCTURE & SYMMETRY | The vermilion border is the natural edge where your lips meet your skin. For some patients, this border is naturally less defined, which can make the lips appear softer in shape or lack symmetry. For this patient, we created balance by using a half syringe (0.6ml) of Revanesse® Outline™+ to define and add structure to the vermilion border (helping reducing the risk of filler migration) before adding another half syringe (0.6ml) of Revanesse® Kiss™ for gentle volume.
