Let’s clear the air about custom orthotics 👟
There’s a lot of misinformation out there, so here are a few things worth knowing about custom orthotics:

👣 They shouldn’t hurt! Some adjustment time is normal, but custom orthotics are designed to support your feet comfortably. Persistent pain means something needs to be adjusted.
👣 They’re not a substitute for exercises. Orthotics work best alongside strengthening and mobility exercises - not instead of them.
👣 One kind of style does not fit all. Custom orthotics can be made for dress shoes, running shoes, workboots, skates, ski boots, and more. You’re not locked into one style for every situation.
👣 Not everyone needs them (and that’s okay). A proper assessment helps determine what your feet actually need - custom orthotics may or may not be part of that answer.

If you’re curious about what’s going on with your feet, a Biomechanical Assessment is the best place to start. We’ll look at your gait, your footwear, your history, and your goals to figure out what’s right for you.

Bunions are one of the most common foot conditions we see, and one of the most misunderstood. 🦶

We published a new blog post breaking down what bunions actually are, why they develop and how footwear and orthotics can play a role in managing them.

A biomechanical assessment is a great place to start! It gives us a chance to take a closer look at your foot and figure out what it actually needs. 👣

Is knee pain slowing you down? 🦵

Persistent discomfort during your morning walk or while climbing stairs is a sign that your body needs better support.
A biomechanical assessment at Step It Up Orthotics looks at the whole picture: your medical history, how you move, your footwear, and your gait pattern. Sometimes knee pain starts with your feet, and understanding your unique mechanics can help guide the right tools for you.

Winter boots keeping your feet uncomfortable? ❄️

Heavy winter boots often lack proper arch support and cramped toe boxes can leave your feet achy.

At Step It Up Orthotics, we can assess how your footwear affects your biomechanics and recommend boots that actually work for your feet. Custom orthotics can also be fitted into most winter boots for added comfort and support.

Your feet deserve better than just “warm enough.”
