Getting to Know… BraveHeart First Aid Incorporated

We’re BraveHeart First Aid — a community-based training team based right here in the Valley.

You may have heard of us before, but there’s something new happening behind the scenes. BraveHeart has new owners — Stefanie and Eli Castson, a Valley-based family with two kids and a love for this quieter, close-knit part of Nova Scotia.

As a Swiss Canadian Family, they were drawn to the open spaces, Fundy shore sunsets, and what they call the “Canada of yesteryear” feeling that’s hard to describe but easy to love.

Not long after moving here, Eli went looking to renew his first aid certification. Living rural, where help isn’t always close, it just felt like the right thing to do. That’s how they found BraveHeart — and something about it clicked. When the opportunity came to
Buy BraveHeart, their hearts knew it was meant to be.

Founded by Nancy O’Halloran, BraveHeart started with a single course and grew into Nova Scotia’s largest independent first aid training company — certifying over 5000 each year and known for its warm, engaging approach to lifesaving education. We’re proud to continue that legacy.

Stefanie brings a background in Physiotherapy and now leads as our Director of Training. Eli also owns a Digital Company and this will support behind the scenes with systems, planning, and logistics.

The rest of the BraveHeart crew has stayed on board — the same kind friendly faces who’ve been teaching, guiding, and supporting learners across the province.

And while the ownership has changed, the mission hasn’t. If anything, it’s stronger than ever. We still focus on making first aid feel simple, doable, and brave. You won’t find pressure or panic in our classrooms — just solid support and down-to-earth teaching.

We offer Emergency First Aid, Standard First Aid, CPR, Marine First Aid, and youth programs like Babysitter and Stay Safe. We run regular sessions at our headquarters in Kentville Business Park and book private courses across Nova Scotia.

There are plans to expand with new offerings in the future, but our heart remains the same: helping people feel ready to step up and help, no matter where they are. That’s where our name comes from. First aid doesn’t make you fearless. It just gives you enough knowledge to be brave.

You can find all the course details at www.braveheartfirstaid.com, or reach us by text or phone at 902-670-1383. We’re always happy to help you find the right course. Or hit Chat Button on the Website!!

Thanks for taking a moment to get to know the people behind BraveHeart. We’re proud to be local, proud to be kind — and honoured to carry forward the work started by Nancy, whose passion and heart built this company from the groun up...one community, one person at a time.

LOVE
The BraveHeart Crew ♥️
