COVID-19 Massage Therapy Update- May 28, 2020
It was publically announced on May 27, 2020 by Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health updating the directive for Regulated Health Professionals including Massage Therapists to begin a gradual return of services to be carried out with adherence to the guidance of our College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO).
RMT’s have certain criteria that has to be met before reopening which include online health and safety modules, advanced cleaning and disinfecting protocols, sourcing, acquiring and using appropriate PPE, implementing changes in the clinics setup and operating practices to accommodate infection control and social distancing and client screening before every appointment. Once those directives are met we will be contacting clients for scheduling. The CMTO also encourages limiting the number of in-person visits by prioritizing clients with essential needs while gradually resuming practice. Treatment is considered essential when clients overall health or function would considerably decline if treatment is not provided (i.e. Lead to hospitalization or other serious health consequences).
I will announce the reopening date and more details in the coming weeks.
Well look forward to see you soon!
