🌎 Happy World Earth Day

We believe that caring for people and caring for our planet go hand in hand.

We believe in partnering with nature—because time outdoors isn’t just beautiful, it’s powerful. Fresh air, sunlight, and connection to the natural world can reduce stress, lift mood, and support overall health for the clients and families we serve.

As a fully Accreditation Canada–accredited organization, sustainability isn’t a trend—it’s built into our policies, practices, and daily decisions. From how we operate to how we deliver care, we are committed to responsible stewardship today and for future generations.

And we don’t just talk about it—we show up. From community clean-up initiatives to encouraging outdoor engagement, we’re proud to play a small part in creating healthier communities.

💚 Small actions. Real impact.

💙 A rare opening for exceptional care at home — Vaughan, Aurora & King Region
At HosPall Homecare, our caregivers build lasting, trusted relationships with the families they support — often over months and years.
Due to natural changes in a few of our clients' care journeys, a small number of our most experienced caregivers are now available to support new families in our community.

This is a rare opportunity to be matched with caregivers who have supported complex, evolving care needs over the long term — and who work within a team that includes active Registered Nurse oversight throughout the care journey, not just at the start.

✔️ HosPall Homecare is proudly one of the very few home care organizations in Ontario to hold Exemplary Status through Accreditation Canada — the highest level of accreditation awarded. It's a standard that reflects our commitment to safety, quality, and clinical governance in the home.

If you or someone you love has been thinking about support at home — or if you're navigating a recent hospital discharge or change in care needs — this may be the right moment to reach out.

📞 We're here to talk. No pressure, just guidance.

Compassion Delivered.

Sharing this thoughtful thread from the comments of Dementia Strategies—such a powerful reminder that what we see isn’t always what someone living with dementia experiences.

Really looking forward to this afternoon’s event:
_The Future of Nursing: A Conversation with Shirlee Sharkey and Linda Patrick.

These are two incredible leaders who have helped shape what nursing looks like today—and where it’s going next.

Hospall's Director of Strategic Growth and Innovation, Karen, had the opportunity to meet Shirlee during her time with ventureLAB, and her leadership at St. Elizabeth Health Care truly stood out. Her focus on innovation in care delivery and her vision for the future of healthcare continue to inspire.

We’ll be tuning in and sharing insights after—stay with us 👀

💙 This month, as we continue to recognize Autism Awareness and Acceptance, stories like this remind us what community truly looks like.

We’re proud to share that Kelly Mahar is once again lacing up for her incredible 27-hour run in support of children and families across York Region. 🏃‍♀️

Over the past five years, Kelly has raised more than $72,000—and this year, she’s pushing toward an amazing $100,000 milestone in support of programs like the Autism Ontario Summer Camp.

At Hospall, we’ve been sharing throughout April that every individual experiences the world differently—and every family’s journey deserves understanding, support, and compassion. Initiatives like this bring that message to life in the most powerful way.

If you’re able, consider supporting or sharing Kelly’s mission:

Let’s continue building a community where awareness leads to action—and where every family feels seen, supported, and included. 💙

SAVE THE DATE! Kelly Mahar is once again preparing for her 27-hour run on Saturday, April 25th, at the Newmarket Squash Club!

This is her 5th Annual Running for Awareness fundraiser in support of York Region Summer Camp. Kelly has raised an incredible $72, 451 over the past years and is ready to surpass the $100,000 milestone.

Most families don’t plan to have this conversation.

They wait… until something happens.

A fall.
A hospital visit.
A moment where decisions need to be made quickly — and no one is quite sure what their loved one would have wanted.

But the best care decisions aren’t made in a crisis.
They’re made ahead of time, with clarity and calm.

This week is Advance Care Planning Week in Canada, leading up to April 16.

It’s not about expecting the worst.
It’s about making sure your wishes are understood — and your family feels confident, not overwhelmed.

At Hospall, our experienced nurses and aging experts help guide families through these conversations every day.

💬 Start with one conversation this week.

Planning for the future of aging—this is what it looks like 💙

King Township’s Age-Friendly Community initiative is bringing residents, partners, and providers together to build a community where older adults can live safely, stay connected, and age in place with dignity.

Now recognized by the Province of Ontario, this work highlights a real commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and meaningful support for seniors.

We’re grateful to for the opportunity to be part of this important initiative 🙌

👏 Congratulations to King Township on this important milestone.

This plan reflects what we see every day in home care—that aging well isn’t just about one service, but a connected system of housing, transportation, healthcare, and community support.

We’re especially encouraged to see the strong emphasis on aging in place with dignity and independence, shaped directly by residents and caregivers.

At Hospall, we’re proud to support families across King Township and to be part of a community that is taking such a thoughtful, proactive approach to the future of aging.

Following recognition by the Government of Ontario earlier this year for King’s achievements in building an Age-Friendly Community, Council has endorsed ’s Age-Friendly Community Action Plan.

📝 The plan outlines eight key priorities—from housing and transportation to social participation and accessibility—to help residents thrive at every stage of life.

🗣️ Developed through extensive consultation with residents aged 55+, community partners, and the Age-Friendly King Advisory Committee, this plan reflects what our community told us matters most to help older adults age in place (grow older at home) with dignity and independence.

04/08/2026

Most seniors want to stay in their own homes as they age.

And with the right support, they can.

But behind every care plan is a person—a caregiver, nurse, or therapist—showing up, building trust, and providing essential support day after day.

Right now, home care across Ontario is feeling the pressure of workforce shortages—not only for PSWs, but increasingly for nurses and other regulated health professionals.

At the same time, many newcomers to Canada bring healthcare training and experience, and are working toward Canadian credentials—representing an important and growing part of our future workforce.

As healthcare continues to shift out of hospitals and into the home, the need for skilled, compassionate team members will only increase.

That doesn’t just impact providers—it impacts families waiting for care, and loved ones trying to manage on their own.

We support efforts to ensure policies reflect the real needs of care in our communities.
