L'ACFOMI fête leur 50ième!
Si vous êtes artistiques, inscrivez-vous. Il reste quelques jours.

L’ACFOMI lance le projet Mémoire francophone en vitrine dans le cadre de son 50ᵉ anniversaire. Nous recherchons 7 artistes amateurs francophones (15 ans +) vivant sur le territoire de l’ACFOMI, soit entre Trenton et Brockville pour créer une œuvre inspirée de l’histoire de l’ACFOMI et de la francophonie des Mille-Îles.

Les artistes recevront une allocation pour le matériel, des honoraires pour leur œuvre et bénéficieront d’un mentorat professionnel.

Today is September 30th, Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

This is a day to remember the children who never returned home and honour those who survived and were forever impacted by the residential school system.

Orange Shirt Day is not a holiday. It is a day to reflect on the history of this country, acknowledge the injustices inflicted upon First Nations, Inuit and Métis families for generations, and to envision a future where truth is understood and reconciliation is more than just a word.

Start your journey towards reconciliation by acknowledging the truth. If you live in Ottawa, we encourage you to attend the gathering in person. If you can’t join us, we invite you to tune in live to the live broadcast of Remembering the Children on APTN, CBC/Radio-Canada, the NCTR YouTube channel, or other broadcast partners.

Together, we remember. Together, we can take truth to action.

La Journée du chandail orange n’est pas un jour de fête. C’est une journée pour réfléchir à l’histoire de ce pays, reconnaître les injustices infligées aux familles des Premières Nations, des Inuits et des Métis pendant des générations, et envisager un avenir où la vérité est comprise et où la réconciliation est plus qu’un simple mot.

Sabrina est une travailleuse sociale et psychothérapeute qui offre des services francophone (en personne) dans la région de Kingston, Napanee et partout en Ontario par scéances virtuelles. Elle pratique présentement une thérapies de couple centrée sur les émotions en français. (son cours était en anglais et elle doit tout traduire!)

Sasikala is accepting new clients across Ontario VIRTUALLY

Sasikala is kind, empathetic and has a great sense of humor. She welcomes clients of 16+ who struggle with grief and loss, life transitions, burnout, depression, parenting, and cultural adaptation issues, as well as issues that impact women specifically. Given her own personal academic background, she is a perfect fit for those who are also within academic circles. Her approach is firmly rooted in a person-centered, trauma-informed, anti-oppressive and feminist lens ensuring she meets each client where they are in their journey. Through her guidance, you’ll be able to overcome your barriers and achieve your goals as quickly as possible.

She is fluently bilingual and offers services for clients in both English and Malayalam.

I want to take a moment to post a huge SHOUT OUT to them and to the community for believing in us and entrusting us with the most sensitive and vulnerable data, you and your life.

Platinum x2.  Top spot in Health care: Counselling and Therapy and in Services: Mental Health.  Just wow.  Today we are recognized…. and……..  Oh My Gosh – we were not expecting that!

to Sasikala, Sabrina, Mel, Liz and Dave:  WOW.   You guys are freaken’ cool.

To the community – and to our clients, specifically:  Thank you.  The most sincere and heartfelt Thank You.

To share the podium with the likes of Rising Hope, Angie Vanderwees, Jacqueline Boehme, the Hammonds’ and Maltby Services as well as Resolve Counselling, Compass, J&K and the Kurated team as top contenders is such an honor!  Congratulations to all those being recognised today.  We don’t know you all but we look forward to meeting and collaborating in the future!
