Helping Haiti

Helping Haiti provides the people of Cite Soleil, Haiti with sustainable, community-driven, development projects and programs.

Founder Tammy Aristilde began as a humanitarian in Cité Soleil, Port-au-Prince, Haiti in early 2008. Where most people would turn their eye – leaving issues for others to sort out – Tammy, together with Robinson, our Haitian Director, marched forward and began sowing the seeds for what would eventually become Helping Haiti. Our mission is to provide the people of Cité Soleil, with sustainable, community-driven, development programs that focus on increasing the health, safety and well-being of the community. Our mission is realized through several projects and programs, all centred around Cite Soleil, Port-au-Prince, one of the poorest communities in the western hemisphere. While we are physically in Cité Soleil, we walk the streets – through the good, the bad and even through the worse… meeting the citizens of Cité Soleil and getting to know them on a personal level. This approach allows us to forge ever-lasting trust and relationships with the people we’re helping.

Over 60 families given fresh food this week in Cite Soleil by our busy team! Right now fresh bread is the most filling, cost effective option for food that doesn’t require families to have access to cooking supplies and extra clean water to cook with. So many happy faces & full bellies!
