This is my happy place 🤗🌿☀️

A quiet spot between two trees,
overlooking my pond 🌊🐟

Sunlight filtering through the leaves… the gentle sway of my swing…

Everything here invites my nervous system to soften 🍃

For me, this image is not only a reminder of how important it is to pause - but also offers imagery I can use anywhere…

To help my mind re-connect with my body and step out of sympathetic (hyperaroused) overdrive 🧠⚕️

In therapy, we’re often working to help clients find more of this feeling - even beyond places like this 🤍

Part of healing is recognizing where your energy is valued and where it isn’t. We learn to step back from spaces that diminish us and move toward those that feel safe, respectful and authentic.
Sometimes, we just need to create that space for ourselves. This is where self-worth grows. 🌿

This made me smile - and also pause.

Watching adults try to skip, you can’t help but laugh… but there’s also something quietly bittersweet about it. There was a time when this came so naturally to all of us as kids - effortless, playful, free. No overthinking, no self-consciousness, just movement and joy.

Somewhere along the way, life got heavier. Responsibilities, stress, expectations… and little by little, we lost touch with that sense of ease and play.

In therapy, we often talk about reconnecting - not just with our thoughts and emotions, but with parts of ourselves we’ve left behind. Playfulness isn’t childish - it’s human. It’s regulating, connecting, and healing.

Maybe the goal isn’t to become someone new… but to gently rediscover who we already were.

What’s something playful you’ve lost touch with over the years? 💭

Artificial intelligence can be an amazing and incredibly useful tool when it’s used thoughtfully. It can organize information, offer perspectives and support learning in ways that were never possible before. At the same time, there are always nuances that come with new technology - especially when that technology isn’t human but is being used to understand very human things like emotions, relationships and thought processes. Those areas are complex, layered and shaped by lived experience, which means they often require discernment and real human context alongside the technology. Thank you for sharing Dr. Amitay

When you sit with warriors, the conversation shifts.

Less complaining, more accountability. Less fear, more courage. It’s where honesty lives, growth is expected, and people challenge each other to rise rather than stay comfortable. ⚔️

7 Micro-Habits that Rewire Your Brain for Happiness 😊🧠🎊

As a mental health therapist, I can confidently say that happiness isn’t something we stumble upon by chance - it’s something we cultivate through consistent, supportive habits. Some people talk to us in their free time… while others make time for us. There’s a big difference. 💛

Who makes the effort to show up consistently, matters - for our mental health, for our sense of belonging, and for the tribe we choose to surround ourselves with.

Choose people who value you enough to make time, not just fill a moment. Your mental well-being deserves that kind of care. 💫

⚡️ Stress ⚡️
Shift Your Perspective - Reclaim Your Power 💪

🧠 Stress isn’t just what happens to us - it’s how we perceive it. The same challenge can feel overwhelming or manageable, depending on our mindset.

⚖️ What Stress Does to Us

Stress triggers our nervous system, leading to racing thoughts, tension & exhaustion. But many stressors - 📅 deadlines, 💰 finances, 🏡 family issues - aren’t actual threats... our brains just perceive them that way.

We CAN control 🔍
✅ Our thoughts & interpretations
✅ Self-care - 💤 sleep, 🚶‍♂️ movement, 🥗 nutrition, 🤝 connection

We CANNOT control
🚫 Other people’s actions
🚫 Unexpected life events

💡 Try Managing Stress Through Your Mindset...
Instead of thinking "I can't handle this," try...
✨ "This is tough, but I’ve faced challenges before."
✨ "I have options, even if they aren’t ideal."

Reframing stress gives us back control.
