A major breakthrough in cancer care — led right here at Queen's University.

In a world-first clinical trial, Dr. Christopher Booth has shown for the first time that a structured exercise program significantly improves survival for colon cancer patients. The trial was led by the Canadian Cancer Trials Group in collaboration with the Sinclair Cancer Research Institute, Kingston Health Sciences Centre, and KHSC Research Institute.

The findings prove that adding just 2.5 hours of moderate exercise per week after treatment can reduce cancer recurrence, improve quality of life, and extend survival.

We are beyond proud to see at the forefront of this global impact. Read the full story ➡️ https://bit.ly/43GNzil

A SIMPLE BLOOD TEST TO DETECT OVARIAN CANCER EARLIER -
Our CBG Division's Senior Scientist and Professor, Dr. Christopher Mueller, and graduate student, Sydney Shepherd, along with Dr Josee-Lyne Ethier, a medical oncologist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre (Toronto), are working to change how late ovarian cancer is diagnosed with a new test – one that could detect the disease earlier and more accurately than ever before.
This innovative test is called , a blood test that looks for changes in DNA linked to ovarian cancer.
Thanks to , Ovarian Cancer Relief Foundation’s Dawn Ride and donors, this research is moving from the lab to the real world! Learn more about this innovative project:
