Co-led by our CCT division's, Dr. Christopher Booth and Dr. Kerry Courneya of University of Alberta, the Canadian Cancer Trials Group CHALLENGE trial showed that even simple activities like walking can make a meaningful difference. Read all about this groundbreaking 17-year study ⬇️

Movement is medicine for colon cancer survivors.

An international clinical trial co-led by Dr. Kerry Courneya at University of Alberta with collaborators including the Canadian Cancer Trials Group, found that structured exercise after chemotherapy can significantly improve long-term outcomes for people with Stage 2 and 3 colon cancer.

Participants in the program experienced:
✔️ 28% lower risk of cancer recurrence or a new cancer
✔️ 37% lower risk of death

For many, fatigue after chemo treatment makes exercise feel difficult. But the CHALLENGE trial showed that even simple activities like walking can make a meaningful difference.
