We hate to be a case study for this but this week we’ve had a colicing horse and I want to make sure our clients have a few handy items on their radar!

This isn’t the first time I’ve used “In The Zone” paste for colic. Not only is it excellent for soothing an irritated gut, it also helps keep your horse calm when they are feeling less than ideal. This week we’ve given it alongside Race Recovery paste (increase their water uptake) Banemine and of course round the clock XLR8 Velocity Sheet!

We know for colic there is no one size fits all but having these items on hand in an emergency may just buy you time or save you the whole vet trip!

Did you know horses generate body heat primarily through the fermentation of fiber in their gut? When it’s cold they burn more calories just to maintain their temperature.
