Avery Counselling I am based in Langley, BC & offer in-person, telephone & secure video online sessions.

Since 1994, I have helped couples & individuals create solutions to improve their mental, physical, & emotional wellness through counselling, meditation, & mindfulness. For 25 years, Charlaine Avery has helped couples and individuals create solutions to improve their mental, physical, and emotional wellness through counselling, meditation, and mindfulness. She has worked with individuals, couples,

and families to help them understand relationship issues like communication problems, conflict, grief, affairs, transitions, parenting, and step-parenting. Hundreds of adults, youth and children have been helped by her practical, kind, and caring approach. Charlaine helps people express difficult emotions, identify what they need, and learn practical strategies for dealing with challenges. Her practice is based on the most up-to-date information, best practices, and emerging advances in the field of counselling. She is the first counsellor in British Columbia who is certified in Discernment Counselling, an intensive process that helps couples decide whether they should end their relationship, or not. Charlaine received her Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Simon Fraser University in 1994 and is a BC Association of Clinical Counsellors Registered Clinical Counsellor. She has worked as a manager, clinical director, and quality assurance consultant for other counselling services. When not counselling, Charlaine is an avid gardener, photographer (trained in Miksang photography) and traveller.

Realizing that you're dating the wrong person can be one of the most confusing romantic problems to deal with, if there are no big red flags 🚩

Despite the lack of huge red flags, there's often a frequent vibe of confusion, exhaustion or general frustration with the relationship. This may indicate that you and your partner don't have complimentary personalities, values or goals, and are simply a bad match.

If you are confronted with life-altering choices, uncomfortable feelings, conflict, betrayal, or wanting someone else to change, you are not alone.

As your counselor, I support you to explore your relationships possibilities. We develop strategies and skills tailored to your circumstances focused on understanding, acceptance and healthy communication to enhance your emotional, mental, social, and physical well-being.

My schedule is available online 24/7 for your convenience. Take your first step to a better relationship today.

We all make mistakes and sadly, we end up hurting someone we love consciously or unconsciously. 😩

However, merely saying the words “I am so sorry” is not enough. We try to apologize in a way that makes it clear to the person how deeply we regret our words or behavior.

Understanding how to apologize can be the secret to achieving genuine forgiveness and bring a relationship forward in a better direction. So here are the 5 keys to apologizing.

✨ Recognize our mistakes and the things we have done.
✨ Be sincere.
✨ Take full ownership.
✨ Correct the behavior.
✨ Listen.

Yes, it might take some time for things to find a new normal but it is worth it.

Have you tried to improve things without success? Then give me a call at:
