SKK Welding- Andrew Shepley

SKK Welding- Andrew Shepley Complete mobile welding service able to provide stick and mig welding services (hard wire and flux core) I am a journeyman weldor with a lot of skill and drive.

I named my company SKK Welding, of which SKK is an acronym being the first initials of my children. I believe in quality work and as such am driven to continuously improve on my skills. I am currently capable of shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) and tungsten inert gas welding (TIG) for mild and stainless steels. If the time comes where metal inert gas welding (MIG) is required I can certainly add

that to my set up as well. I'm the sole proprietor and my only employee of my business. I have a background in welding for an oilfield repair shop and then in a fabrication shop while I was apprenticing. After I got my journeyman/interprovincial red seal status I worked for a company building skids and pump jacks for a year for the oil industry. All above mentioned took place in Estevan,SK. I then moved to Saskatoon and worked for a couple years with DynaIndustrial, building skids and other equipment mainly for the offshore oil industry as well as making oat de-hullers, rebuild and resurfacing of mining rotors for the potash industry and mobile crane repairs usually for SaskPower. From there I started working for Potash Corporation of Saskatchewan on March 31,2008 and in December 2013 was one of the unlucky many to get permanently laid off, which has led me to follow through with a desire to become self employed with my own mobile welding service. I tested and passed my 2" pressure ticket in March. I have First aid/CPR/AED Level A training, H2S Alive, WHMIS, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (which some companies want because I have compressed gasses on board, although it's not technically required given the low quantity that I do carry). I've had many CWB tickets in the past including all position SMAW, all position FCAW, MIG (flat and horizontal). If any were required at some stage, I most certainly could test again. I firmly believe in safety as a core value at any work site and as such will adhere to any safety regulations set forth. There is always room for improvement in any safety program and as I have seen in my time with Potash Corp. the safety standards and practices are always changing and being updated. As our environment and activities change we have to re-evaluate our surroundings in safety. Things still happen no matter how hard we try, we are human and when things do happen we have to step back and evaluate what it is that we need to do in order to prevent it from happening again. At the end of the day we all want to go home to our families in one piece with a cheque to support them and leave behind a job well done. With safety comes better productivity and performance in getting the job done. It may slow things down a little bit at least in the starting phases but once experience is obtained, the practice of identifying hazards will be 2nd nature and be completed in a decent time frame and work can be completed. Welding is something I love doing, I love challenging tasks even ones that can be frustrating. Upon completion, especially the complicated tasks, I find a great sense of accomplishment and use each task a learning experience. Having that sense I feel boosts confidence in what I do and allows me to go forward with ambition and passion in my career. Anything I can provide for my customers is a top priority, be it maintenance, repairs or fabrication. I am just a call away and am ready to work!
