👉💥I am asked about abdominals on the weekly!
- How do I get abs?
- What do I do for abs?
- I train abs every day and still do not have abs!?

👉I answer these below.

👌How I started abs:

I once was duped in the 90's by the Ab-Flex machine!
To be quite honest it was pretty cool 90's gadget!

❓Anyone else use the Ab-Flex?

👉Did it work?
Who knows, I was chubby, eating like s**t, but was able to push that red meter all the way out like an ab boss! Still no abs though!

❤ How do you see your abs?

If I asked the world to vote on "How do you see your abs?"
❓What would they choose?

#1. You get abs by doing tons of sit-ups, crunches, weighted machine crunches. Bet!

OR

#2. You get abs by focusing on your nutrition, training, cardio and lifestyle.

👉If you said #1, you would be 5% right!
This is what 95% of today's gym goers do, they hop onto today's Ab-Flex machines in their new fancy gym and go to work, but see no results. (but hey, they can do the stack on that machine like a champ!). 💥You have been Ab-Flex Duped!

Ok, I too did the fancy abdominal Ab-Flex crap, tons of sit-ups that just ended up giving my hip flexors a massive workout and some back pain...oh well, we all tried right!

❤👉💪Here is what works:
✅You need to have your nutrition in order!
🔥The old saying holds truth, "Abs are made in the kitchen".

✅We all have abs people!
- Yes you can make your abs stronger with exercises for sure!
✅Technique is paramount here with training abdominals!

✅Nutrition is everything!
No nutrition, all that hard work in the gym will not show!
*A caloric deficit is needed to get you lean to see your abs.

✅Cardio, yes cardio can help in your caloric deficit.
🛑too much cardio, combined with bad nutrition, will not burn that tummy off! Sadly, you will burn off your muscles and hold the fat on your body for survival! 😥The term is called *Skinny Fat.

✅Lifestyle: yes 100%,
By changing a few ways you live to support your nutrition, training and cardio will help your abs start to show.

👉Now my photo story:

😥Photo 1, age 24:
Duped by Ab-Flex and ate like s**t. Plus drank a lot of booze. Never went to bed until way past midnight.

💥 Photo 2, age 38:
Lifestyle was lived to it's fullest, training as a Pro Natural Bodybuilder.
The ONLY abs I did was 1 month out of my competition show.
I did Hanging Leg raises 2-3 sets of 8-12 reps at a slow controlled tempo.
Why? Cause I could see them working lol. Felt good to get a pump in the abs, but I already had strong abs from all my compound lifts in training.

💪Photo 3, age 40:
My first Masters show at 40 years old.
Again living and rocking lifestyle.
Abs = Only hanging leg raises close to my competition shows.
Nutrition and training were paramount.
I did way less cardio here at 40+ and focused more on training, recovery and nutrition.

🔥Photos 4/5, age 50 today: (51 is August!)
I am still training 100%.
Lifestyle over the last few years has been to gain some lean muscles mass, improve sleep & mobility, while getting my health optimized for 50+ years old.
Cardio: just walking and some laps with Jaxen.
👉Do I do any strict abdominals right now?
- No, not directly.
- My abs are trained in my compound lifts like, Back squats, RDL's, Deadlifts, Back extensions, Nordic Curls, Overhead pressing.....list goes on. (Lifting uses abs!)
- I do train my mobility and my low back a lot more these days to prep me for being a senior in my future!
- I want to be fully functional, silver and kicking ass as a old man!
- I want to feel and look optimized, this takes a new lifestyle approach for me.
- More recovery is needed these days.
- Nutrition wise, I am eating more than I ever have! 🔥Seriously people, I eat a ton of food.
💥Food is energy for the body, for recovery, for vitality, eat up that real food to feel optimized!
🛑Dieting all the time you just feel like s**t!☠

👉I will say them one last time:
Nutrition, Training Program, Cardio and Lifestyle.

🔥🚀But Chad, I do not care to see my abs.
OK great, but I know you want a slimmer waistline!!!!

👉✅Now if you just want to get trim, everything I spoke about above matters 100%. They ONLY small difference, you get to have more flexibility in your lifestyle plan.

One of the BIGGEST areas I help create in both men and women is to STOP focusing on Losing Weight and START focusing on getting STRONG!

Getting STRONG is not just about Back Squatting in the GYM!

Getting strong is mental, physical, emotional, increasing your consistency and confidence towards your end goal result.

If you are always worried about the scale, your focus is 100% off and you will not succeed! You will be scared!

Time to start focusing on getting STRONG!

Have you ever tried focusing on getting stronger?

Physical:
Have you ever tracked your Leg Press, Db Bench Press or Split Squats seeing if you are getting stronger and really pushing hard to increase these lifts?

Cardiovascular:
Have you ever tracked your VO2 Max and see if your cardio is getting stronger?

Mobility:
Have you ever tracked your mobility and flexibility to see if those are getting stronger and improving?

Nutrition:
Have you every tracked your nutrition to see how optimized and good you can feel if you ate the food that makes you stronger?

Sleep:
You ever tracked your sleep to see if you are getting 8hrs of kick ass sleep per night and focusing on making this a strength!!!

Mental:
Have you ever focused on being kind to yourself?
Taken the time to sit quite and embrace your mental strength.
Given yourself a pat on the back with your own voice?

So many FAIL because they are in a Loser Mindset.

A weight loss only mindset of restriction, deprivation and abuse!
- Cut out all carbs
- Eat low fat
- Do tons of cardio and starve yourself

How do any of the above work successfully for the Long Term?

I will tell you a secrete, the more STRENGTH you build on a consistent basis in Nutrition, the Gym, yourself, your bodyweight will TAKE CARE OF ITSELF!

Think about it now, the body you have today was created by your past choices and daily efforts.

I loving having conversations with current and past clients texting me that they hit a New PB Personal Best on their Back Squat, or they just ran a PB in their last 5k race. These are people focusing on improving strengths!

What bothers the living hell out of me are those that complain about their bodyweight on a daily basis, but cannot link 4 weeks consistently together. Sadly they trump all their hard work because the scale is not dropping, never giving themselves props for kicking ass and seeing all the strengths starting to develop!

A body is not built in a day or a few weeks.
A body is built over many years through making weaknesses into strengths!

When you are creating a new person, stop looking at the scale, start focusing on getting STRONG in every aspect of your life!

Always tell yourself you are feeling stronger every day!
Always give yourself a pat on the back physically and mentally!

👉A question I always seem to get these days is, "Do I have to go to a gym to workout?".

❤My answer is always No.

👉Going deeper on my answer, one must not do just cardio, as this is only one aspect of total fitness.

💪You need strength training exercises. Now from these strength exercises you get obviously stronger, tighter and sculpted.

❤🚀💪Now to hidden benefits of strength training are massive! You build and increase optimized mitochondria, thicker bone density, stronger tendons, functional joints, work capacity and injury prevention.

👌Try These Out:
Here are some Non Gym workouts from my 7-Day Cortisol Action Kit that can be done any place you can fit them in.

🚶‍♂️I personally do these in the middle of my long Intent Power Walks.
I find a playground on my walk that has what I need to do
- Dips
- Pull-ups or Jumping Pull-ups
- Push-ups or Incline Push-ups
- Bar to hang from

🚀Normally I walk for 15min, then stop to do my 10+10+10 for 10min micro workout, then walk home for 15min = 40min total body completed
