The City of Lethbridge is offering a new public skate program beginning December 2023. This dedicated public program will accommodate a slower-paced skate, while creating a sensory-friendly environment by removing loud music and dimming bright lights. This will offer our community members with special needs and disabilities feel comfortable while enjoying healthy and active living opportunities at our arena facilities. Admission for this program is free, and all members of the public are welcome to participate with the understanding that this is a slow-paced skate. Patrons are welcome to enter onto the ice with their mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, etc.) at their own discretion. Helmets at all of our public programs are encouraged, but are not required.

1. Do you make your bed everyday? Yes. Mostly…well actually, Dave usually does it while I’m getting ready, but it usually gets made every day 😂 (thanks babe David Saunders).
2. What's your favorite​ number? 79
3. What is your dream job? I wish I could get paid to decorate 😂…or organize/declutter. Probably should have been an interior designer! OR something where I’m helping people 😉
4. If you could, would you go back to school? I have gone back to school! Do I love it…no! But when I’m done a course I’m always impressed with my new knowledge and that’s kind of captivating.
5. Can you parallel park? Yes
6. A job which people would be shocked that you had? I’m kind of a “Jill” of all trades, which makes my abilities unique, so I don’t think people would be surprised by anything that I would tell them that I’ve done in the past. But one thing that I never thought that we would do is open up an Airbnb. But I’m super happy that we did!
7. Do you think aliens are real? No
8. Can you drive a stick shift? Yes
9. Guilty pleasure? Lava cake and ice cream

I saw this and I thought I would share! 💕💕

When I was a child, I thought Dumbo was about a little flying elephant. Now, as a parent and caregiver I have realized it's about a mom raising a wonderful child with different abilities in the middle of a world with cruel people. 💕💕😭💕

Perspective changes everything. As we start the new school year let’s remind ourselves to always be kind. To others and to ourselves ❤️
