We finished building this Medieval Armour Stand while enjoying the sunshine. And honestly, there’s not much better than working alongside your mates, building something by hand, and doing it all in service of our community.

We’ll have two of these knight-worthy stands ready for the upcoming Coulee Clash 2026 ~ Medieval Armoured Combat Tournament this weekend, and Men's Sheds will be proudly showcasing our trade skills at our booth on Saturday & Sunday.

Come by and say hi, watch the knights battle, check out the amazing vendors, and don’t forget - we’ll also have a tonne of raffle items available, including fine handcrafted pieces made by the Men’s Shed fellas themselves.

All proceeds from the Men’s Shed booth go directly back into serving the community and building more and more projects.

We come from a generation that believes in taking care of things - fixing what can be fixed, preserving what matters, and adding a little love along the way.

This small repair project may not look like much from the outside, but it carried a lot of meaning. Helping restore something special for a granddaughter, and adding some personal touches from Granddad, is exactly the kind of work that reminds us why we do what we do, so we can pass on those values to the next generation.

In a world that often says, “just buy another one,” sometimes the better answer is "Let’s fix it, together."

We're proud to serve our community, and especially grateful for the opportunity to support those who provide essential care and connection for our seniors.

Yesterday, Men's Sheds delivered another batch of handcrafted bird feeders to the Recreational Therapy staff and residents at 𝐸𝑑𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝐶𝑎𝑣𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑒 𝐻𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑡ℎ 𝐶𝑒𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟.

What makes projects like this so meaningful is knowing these feeders are more than just wood and screws - they become opportunities for creativity, therapy, and joy. Residents will now decorate and personalize many of the feeders themselves, helping create moments of purpose, engagement, and connection.

And for our Shedders, there’s a deep sense of pride in bringing another community project to life - working together for something bigger than ourselves.

A heartfelt thank you to Sandy, Leanne and Sophie, and the entire team at Edith Cavell for the warm welcome, thoughtful card, and great photos. We’re looking forward to continuing to build meaningful community partnerships together.

A senior member of our community reached out after trying everything - contractors, painters, renovators, even students... but nobody wanted to take on the “small jobs.”
So a few of our Shedders answered the call.

Over a couple of sunny days, plenty of coffee, great conversations, we worked alongside Gord to slowly transform his backyard space. Fencing repaired, stairs refreshed, cedar revived - but more importantly, a good man reminded that his community still shows up when it matters.

The beautiful part? Gord later made a donation back to Men's Sheds Lethbridge & Coaldale, helping us purchase important items for the organization so we can continue helping others.

THIS is what truly matters!

Neighbours helping neighbours, Community with heart.

Gord is a master of all trades - he simply needed a few extra hands. And honestly, we’re so grateful he gave us the opportunity to be there.

This experience has inspired us to do even more projects like this for seniors in our community. Because sometimes the smallest jobs can make the biggest difference.
Sometimes supporting our community means going the extra mile.

And that's what Men's Sheds stands for.

You never quite know what’s going to happen at Men’s Shed, and that’s half the fun😄. This week’s conversation was all about our “junk” - not below the belt 😅 - but the mental clutter we all carry around and the different ways we try to stay organized in everyday life. From shared family calendars, digital writing pads, sticky notes, and old-school pocket books, it was great hearing how everyone individually tackles those never-ending to-do lists in his own way.

We also had another great “show & tell” from Steele, who brought in some of his incredible hand-shaped wood carvings. The craftsmanship and creativity in this group never cease to amaze us.

And then… a surprise visitor showed up. 🐍
Thankfully, she was safely rescued and later released back into the Elizabeth Hall Wetlands, where she found her way home and safe haven.

That’s the beauty of Men’s Shed - meaningful conversations, shared skills, unexpected moments, and plenty of laughs along the way.

We’re incredibly grateful to spend time shoulder-to-shoulder with such great men every week, and we’re excited to roll up our sleeves for a couple days of woodworking ahead.

We also want to give a HUGE thank you to the anonymous supporter who donated a tonne of bottles to the Men’s Sheds account at GPS Container Depot. Your kindness and support genuinely help keep this community growing stronger. 🍻♻️
