A Mother’s Day Message of Resilience 🌸 To the Mothers, the Caregivers, and the Warriors

As we settle into the quiet of this Mother’s Day, my heart is with the families of our South Shore community—especially those navigating the daily journey of persistent pain.

To the mothers who manage the household while managing their own health, and to the families who provide the "silent support" that keeps us going: We see you. Resilience isn't just about big events or galas; it’s found in the quiet moments of a Sunday morning, in the strength it takes to smile through the fatigue, and in the love that remains unchanged by physical limits.

Please remender that your worth is not measured by what you can "do," but by who you are. You are the foundation of this community.

"No love like mother-love ever has shone;
No other worship abides and endures,—
Faithful, unselfish, and patient like yours:
None like a mother can charm away pain
From the sick soul and the world-weary brain."

A Night of Resilience and Community! 🎨✨

A Heartfelt Thank You to Queens County and the South Shore!

What an incredible night at the Astor Theatre!. Our "Art of Resilience" Gala and Residency was a beautiful celebration of our resilient local talent, living with persistent pain. We are still buzzing from the energy in the room.

To our 100+ attendees, our dedicated volunteers, and the 40+ corporate sponsors who stepped up to support us—thank you. You are the reason the South Shore Support Community Society (SSCPSC) is standing on such a solid foundation today.

Special Recognition:
We were honored to be joined by our civic leaders, who took the time to engage with our artists and residents:

Jessica Fancy MP
Kim Masland, MLA for Queens
Scott Richard Christian Mayor

The highlight of the evening was officially unveiling our new logo—a symbol of the growth and connection we are building together.

To our and growing online community: your shares, likes, and "hearts" over the last month helped make this happen. You’ve proven that when we come together, we can create something truly "manna from heaven" for our region.

Special thanks to Astor Theatre, our artists, amazing volunteers, and our sponsors who are leading the way in good corporate citizenship.

Stay tuned for photos of the evening and updates on what’s next for the SSCPSC!
