The solstice marks the longest night of the year.
And for many cultures, it isn’t something to push through — it’s something to pause with.
A natural invitation to slow down.
To rest after a year that may have been loud, tender, complicated, or all three.
Use this season as a practical act of renewal:
taking stock of what you want to carry forward
gently naming what you’re ready to release
and planting small, honest seeds for the brighter months ahead
Many Indigenous traditions remind us that healing happens in cycles, in community, and in relationship — with ourselves, with one another, and with the land. Honouring that wisdom also asks us to reflect on reconciliation, humility, and care.
Rest isn’t empty.
It’s preparation.
However you mark this longest night — quietly, imperfectly, or not at all — may it meet you with kindness.
