Why singing + sound bowls helped my headache (simplified)

1. It relaxes the nervous system.
When we sing, the voice creates gentle vibrations through your throat and chest. This naturally signals your body to calm down, which helps release tension that causes headaches.  My headaches are ALWAYS tension headaches.

2. The bowls help the brain settle.
Sound bowls make steady, soothing tones. Your brain tends to match those tones, which slows everything down and helps quiet that “overthinking” feeling.

3. It improves breathing.
Singing makes us take slower, deeper breaths. That lowers the heart rate, relaxes your muscles, and gets more oxygen flowing and all things can help reduce pain.

4. It eases tight muscles.
The vibrations from the bowls and the voice can loosen tight spots in the neck, head, and shoulders.. my common headache zones.

5. It gives the body a reset.
When sound and singing come together, the body gets a clear “you’re safe, you can relax now” message.
And once the body relaxes, the headache often fades with it.

We remember the lives taken by violence, neglect, and hatred and we speak their names into the light so they are never ever for one second forgotten.
