Vitamin D Production: Sunlight triggers the synthesis of Vitamin D in the skin, which is crucial for bone health, immune function, and absorption of calcium and phosphorus.
Mood Enhancement: Sunlight exposure increases the brain's release of a hormone called serotonin, which is associated with boosting mood and helping a person feel calm and focused. Low levels of sunlight have been linked to a form of depression known as Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD).
Improved Sleep: Exposure to natural light during the day can help regulate your body's circadian rhythm, which is the natural, internal process that regulates the sleep-wake cycle and repeats roughly every 24 hours. Here's three ways to stay safe in the sun:

Wear Sunscreen: Always apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30, even on cloudy days. Reapply every two hours, or more often if you're swimming or sweating. Protect your skin to prevent sunburns and reduce the risk of skin cancer.

Seek Shade: When the sun's rays are strongest between 10 AM and 4 PM, try to stay in the shade as much as possible. Use umbrellas, trees, or tents to shield yourself from direct sunlight and give your skin a break.

Cover Up: Wear protective clothing, including a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses with UV protection, and lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and pants. These simple measures can help shield your skin from harmful UV rays and keep you cool.
