Conditioned by Cara Personal Training Cara has always been a driven athlete and fitness enthusiast! Early on she fell in love with competitive cheering and tumbling.

She put endless hours into the sport her entire childhood, eventually leading her to the University of Maryland where she earned a spot as a scholarship athlete on the Division I Competitive Cheer Team. After college she fell into a 9-5 desk job and quickly realized it was not her calling. Cara's passion lies within physical fitness, health & wellness and helping others. It wasn't long until she realized she needed to think outside the box and enter a field which fulfilled all of these components. In 2015, she became a certified Personal Trainer through NASM & started her career as a trainer at Merritt Athletic Clubs- Federal Hill. After becoming a mom, she knew she needed to leave the big box gym world to be at home with her growing family. Enter the birth of Conditioned by Cara! Now as a wife and mother of three, she is taking on clients out of her own home (and virtually)! Her goal is to not only condition her clients to live a healthier lifestyle but a happier one too. Fitness & discipline is important, but don’t forget your 2 0 % !

We had ourselves a long overdue date night 🤍 last night which got me to thinking 💭 . . . How many date nights do Y O U try to go on each month?! (or week. . . or year . . . Hey, I ain’t judging!)

❶ pregnancy: didn’t prioritize workouts. Felt sluggish. Uncomfortable in my new body. Longer postpartum process to building a body I felt g o o d in.

❹ pregnancy: continue to push my strength training! Feeling my MOST sexy pregnant self 🥰 & I know the road to my strongest & most confident postpartum self will not only be easy but one I’ll e n j o y!

Over the years I’ve learned that pregnancy is an AWESOME time to work on strength!

Becoming a mother requires so much, including lifting babies/toddlers up d a i l y.

Prenatal fitness can help with:
✔️ back pain
✔️ quicker more efficient delivery
✔️ faster recovery postpartum
✔️ decreased chances of gestational diabetes & excess weight gain
✔️ fatigue & sleep disturbances & constipation

There’s NO better time than now to prioritize your strength training! 💪🏻

*N O T E: this is for all the mamas with a normal pregnancy & no complications*

Expecting Mamas: if there is anything I can teach you it’s that you are M O R E capable than you think during this journey.

Keep up with your fitness routine.

I know some days it may feel tough as hell to get going but you’re postpartum self will thank you for doing the leg work *pun intended*.

Focus on your strength, focus on your pelvic floor & core (practice that 360 breathing & bracing!) & keep a c t i v e !

Motherhood doesn’t slow you down — it does the opposite!

H A P P Y • T U E S D A Y 🤍

I’ve been thinking a lot the past few days about New Year r e s o l u t i o n s ✨ & their importance.

Do I think they’re important?

A b s o l u t e l y ✔️

But are they subject to change?

A b s o l u t e l y ✔️

Not change b/c you don’t f e e l like following through . . .

but changing because you as an individual should also be changing
t h r o u g h o u t the year!

A L L year round we should be challenging ourselves.

Making promises to ourselves & k e e p i n g those promises as we grow!

So that’s why it took so long for me to settle on my own r e s o l u t i o n s . . .

So what are mine?

Condition myself E V E R Y D A Y to be the wife, mom, coach & woman I W A N T to be

Condition myself P H Y S I C A L L Y to reach my fitness goals while staying in my current mindset. . .

A m i n d s e t that is:

✔️ k i n d to my mind & body

✔️ d i s c i p l i n e d to work on days I know I can work

✔️ d i s c i p l i n e d to rest when I know it’s time to rest

✔️ p a t i e n t with my myself & those around me

Of course there are some more specific resolutions & goals sprinkled in there & I will definitely fill you in along the way, but in general I hope to be just this:

disciplined, patient & kind.

Today’s m e n u: D E A D L I F T S + accessories ✊🏻

Hope you all had a very m e r r y Christmas, enjoying all the goodies & treats it had to offer!

Today Adam & I switched off with the kids & got a workout in! We gave each other a solid hour each ( b.c we e n j o y it ) !

If all you feel is 20 minutes . . . that’s perfect too! Remember you don’t have to k i l l yourself to “burn off” the calories consumed the last few days.

R e m e m b e r to:
✔️ h y d r a t e
✔️ prioritize p r o t e i n
✔️ fit in those v e g g i e s
✔️ get that body m o v i n g (even if it’s just a neighborhood stroll)

if you don’t have goals set ▶ set the N O W

if you don’t have monthly, weekly, daily plans ▶ plan them N O W

you will never success by blinding walking through your life.

give yourself direction & purpose and you will feel on top of the world when you execute.

& when you fail, because you w i l l fail . . . you learn & get back to it. 👊🏻
