Proper Snow Shoveling Techniques:
-Warm up before you start shoveling to prevent injury.
-Use a shovel with a curved handle to minimize bending and strain on your back.
-Start shoveling early before the snow gets too deep and heavy.
-Push the snow instead of lifting it whenever possible to reduce strain on your back.
-When lifting snow, bend your knees and use your legs to lift rather than your back.
-Take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water to prevent dehydration.
-Dress warmly and wear slip-resistant shoes or boots to prevent slipping and falling.

How to avoid travel pain and soreness
When traveling by car, always ensure that the seat is adjusted properly. Ensure that your knees are in a high position above your hips. Check that your knees are higher than your hips by sliding your fingers behind your knee near your thigh. Use cushions to keep your back straight and avoid gripping the steering wheel too tightly. Take regular breaks when driving.
These are simple steps for traveling comfortably. If you’re experiencing post-travel pain, be sure to make an appointment with Caspian Rehab, Chiropractic clinic in Markham. Travel safely!
HOW TO AVOID PAINFUL BACKS AND ARMS WHILE FLYING
When traveling by air make sure that your seat cushion is not hollowed. Hollowed seats can leave you sitting in an uncomfortable position, causing you to feel irritated. If your seat cushion is hollowed, place pillows on the seat. Furthermore, to prevent neck pain tuck a pillow into the space between your neck and headrest.
Simple stretches to do during the flight
Forward bend
With your feet on a stable surface, slowly bend forward until your torso is parallel to the ground. Extend your arms out in front of you so they can support your weight. Walk your hands down the front sides of your legs, holding them gently. Slowly lower your body towards the floor. When you feel comfortable, hold for 30 seconds, then return to an upright position
Neck roll
Keeping your shoulders relaxed and dropping your ears down toward your shoulder, roll your head from side-to-side. Repeat the motion.
Calf raises
Raise your heels slowly. Keep your knees extended, but do not lock them. Pause for one second before lowering your heels back down to the floor. Return to the starting position.

Looking for chiropractic care for neck pain in Markham?
If you've ever had a headache, you know that "a pain in the neck" is no small thing. A headache can make even the simplest movement involving the neck, head, and arms, incredibly difficult and painful. Headaches can also lead to dizziness, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, and difficulty focusing. When your head hurts, you may not be able to do much of anything. You may feel tired, irritable, depressed, or anxious. Your sleep patterns may change. You may experience muscle weakness, numbness, tingling, or burning sensations. Even if these symptoms aren't severe, they can interfere with your ability to work, play, or enjoy life. At Caspian Rehab, we're experts at relieving neck pain. We'll help you get rid of your headache faster than you might think.
Although the neck is an extremely small part of the body, it contains several very complex bones which help hold your head upright. The small size of these bones means they can move around easily, but they are also prone to injury and pain if not treated properly.
Some of the most common causes of neck pain include:
• Trauma, such as whiplash
• Abnormal bone structure
• Pinched nerve
• Sleeping position
• Spinal stenosis
• Poor posture
• Stress
• Muscle strains
Most of these issues stem from the spine being misaligned. When muscles in the back go into spasms, the spine becomes pulled out of alignment. Misalignment of the spine causes the nerves to become irritated and trigger further tension and other systemic issues. Since every nerve in the body originates in the spinal column, any issue that begins in the back can affect the entire body.

Lower back pains are caused by a few factors including muscle strain, injury, arthritis, spondylolisthesis, disc herniation, osteoporosis, cancer, infection, and other conditions. Lower back pain can also be caused by poor posture, lack of exercise, stress, and obesity.
How is back pain treated?
Chiropractors are doctors who treat back pain using manual adjustments to the spine. Chiropractic care focuses on restoring proper function to the musculoskeletal system through spinal manipulation. Chiropractic treatment involves adjusting the spine to correct misalignments and restore normal motion.
Chiropractic care is a form of alternative medicine that focuses on the relationship between the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. Chiropractors diagnose and treat patients using hands-on techniques, including spinal adjustments, joint manipulation, soft tissue therapy, exercise instruction, and lifestyle counseling.

Gardening is a treasured activity, enjoyed by many. As the growing season progresses so does back pain.
Working outdoors in the garden or those who are landscapers often experience back issues from time-to-time and this is (usually) treated quite easily.
Tips for managing lower back pain when gardening:
Do Before Gardening Back Stretches
Do not garden for longer than 20-30 minutes at a time.
Every five minutes or so, stand up and perform the easy back bends
Avoid standing and bending forward from the waist. If you need to be near the ground, as
for weeding, set both knees on a pad, support yourself with one hand, keeping the neck in
a normal position and the back as straight as possible
hot or cold compresses can alleviate pain
If pain persists visit to a physical therapist or chiropractor

A mallet finger is a deformity of the finger caused when the tendon that straightens your finger (the extensor tendon) is damaged.
It is also known as "baseball finger," this injury can happen to anyone when a ball or other object strikes the tip of the finger or thumb and forcibly bends it, the force tears the tendon which straightens the finger. when an object (like a ball) strikes the tip of a finger or thumb and forces it to bend further than it is intended to go.
Mallet finger recovery
If your tendon is only stretched, not torn, it should heal in 4 to 6 weeks if you wear a splint all the time. If your tendon is torn or pulled off the bone, it should heal in 6 to 8 weeks of wearing a splint all the time. After that, you will need to wear your splint for another 3 to 4 weeks, at night only.
