International Women’s Week…because one day is not enough.
March 1-8, in the Municipality of Marmora and Lake
Dear business owner: Did you know that March 1-8 is officially declared International Women’s Week in Marmora? March 8th is celebrated worldwide as International Women’s Day, but here in Marmora we feel that is not enough time to celebrate all the amazing women we have in our community.
This year’s Intl Women’s Day theme is “Give To Gain”. “International Women’s Day is about empowerment, equity, and progress. Our theme, ‘Give to Gain,’ reminds us that when women give their support, wisdom, and encouragement to one another, we all gain strength. We gain confidence. We gain opportunity. And we build communities where everyone thrives.”
You are encouraged to decorate your business, your home, yourself, with purple and white during this time as these are the official colors of this event and show your support to this event. Boast about your accomplishments, have special offers, events, hang a purple bow on in your window or door, do all that you can to help bring attention to this event. So far, we are the only local community that makes this an official celebration.

The official ribbon cutting will be held at 2pm, February 27 at Caressant Care Retirement Home. Everyone is welcome. Then on March 7, join us at the Marmora Royal Canadian Legion for Women in Wellness Expo. Collectively, let's forge a more inclusive world for women.
