The Nova Scotia Young Farmers crew surprised me with a sweet gift for Kevin and Carl while I was there 🥰💙💚 SO HANDSOME
Looking stylish on this winter day in February 😅 a cool 18C, or 64F for the Celsius challenged.

Join us this Thursday for a great conversation!
Join us on February 5 for a free webinar featuring 3 amazing women who have all achieved confidence and control in their careers by mastering financial concepts. They share their tips, experiences and expertise so you can gain more influence when it comes to decision-making for your farm operation.
The young farmers of Nova Scotia know how to make a prairie gal feel real welcome! 🦞
THANK YOU for your kindness and hospitality. I had the BEST time at the Cultivate Your Future Conference in Truro, Nova Scotia.
The highlights are, but definitely not limited to:
- meeting the amazing women I’ve interviewed on and had friendships with on the internets for YEARS in real life (no photos taken & .purdy_ means we’re the real deal)
- making new friends & learning all about eastern Ag
- sort of seeing a lighthouse
- eating and drinking local
- receiving the cutest most thoughtful gift for Kevin and Carl 🥹
- and last but NOT least, the traditional east coast entertainment
This was my first time on the east coast of Canada and it definitely won’t be my last!

What a day! Thank you for having me MC the 3rd annual Ag Connections Conference.
The day was filled with great people, strong community, and a few bad dad jokes for good measure.
A great event to kick off my speaking season ✨

When I got the text last night that we started harvest, I may or may not have said a bad word.
My friend Stacy Bronec sent me a note telling me I’d like her essay that was coming out this morning.
I didn’t just like it, I’m OBSESSED.
If you or someone you love has ever had to made a field meal, this one’s for you

Most days you can find me with my husband, affectionately known as The Farmer, on our families certified organic grain farm in Southern Alberta, Canada. He is a multi generational farming pro and I am a first generation FarmHer.
What does that mean exactly? Well, I was born and raised a city girl not knowing a darn thing about agriculture. I met my Farmer and not only fell in love with him but with life out on the farm. Fast forward to now, I have left my city life and career behind to work side by side with The Farmer. Together we are helping feed the world. Pretty cool, hey?
When I’m not busy working on the grain farm side of things, you can catch me snuggling my chocolate lab & goats, blogging over at WildRoseFarmer.com, and hosting The Rural Woman Podcast. My other hobbies include, but are not limited to, coffee, belly laughing until you cry, Mexican food, hippie-things, cooking+baking, mental health awareness, and personal development. I’m a mixed bag really!
