I’ve had this question a lot and the answer is a little more than just “googling it”- though that’s a good start.

Yes, you can “google it” (pelvic health/ pelvic floor physiotherapy/physical therapy- your town), you could also try these resources:
➡️Pelvic Health Solutions
➡️College of Physiotherapists of Ontario or the regulating body in your area
➡️APTA (if you’re in the US)
➡️Pelvic Guru
HOWEVER, we believe it’s more than just locating someone, but that they’re a great personal fit for you, especially if you have a lot of options.
In pelvic physio specifically - it’s really important that you’re working with someone where the communication, comfort and personal vibe are all working well between you both.
If you’re seeing someone who you don’t have a great fit with, it could be harder to bring up sensitive topics specific to pelvic health, and you might even struggle with understanding education pieces, buying into what they’re saying or compliance of your exercise program.
Here’s your formula for finding that special someone👇🏼
FIRST
- search the available physiotherapists in your area
SECOND
- get to know them a bit, their skills / specialties and their clinic model (website, an online bio, their instagram page.. etc)
THIRD
- look into virtual options if you didn’t find what you were looking for at home
Some of us say “butthole” on the regular.
Some of us have a more delicate approach.
Some of us use a lot of detailed anatomical terms.
Some of us quote literature constantly.
Some of us have kids, some don’t.
There are more than enough amazing pelvic physiotherapists out there, and a very high chance that you’ll be able to find someone who you vibe with.
✨We’ve got your back (and your front) and are here to help.✨
