Family-Managed Home Care is a program in Ontario that gives families more choice and flexibility in how care is provided for their loved one. Instead of relying only on services arranged through the local Home and Community Care Support Services, families can receive funding directly and use it to hire their own care providers.

This approach allows parents to choose the caregivers they trust, build a team that fits their child’s needs, and have more control over when and how care is delivered.

To access Family-Managed Home Care, families must first be assessed and approved through Home and Community Care Support Services. Once approved, funding is provided so families can begin arranging care in a way that works best for them.

Every family’s situation is unique, and this program helps ensure that care can be as personal and flexible as the child and family need it to be.

Too often, families caring for children with complex needs feel overlooked by systems that are not built to support them. Parents are left carrying enormous weight alone and children miss out on the care they deserve.

We believe every child should be seen, valued, and cared for with dignity. Every family deserves to know they are not alone and that there is a community and a care team standing beside them.
