An abandonment wound can be a lot like a smoke alarm that goes off too fast. It is trying to protect you, but sometimes it reacts even when there is no real danger.
That is why understanding the root of abandonment matters. It helps us make sense of our fears, our patterns, and the ways we learned to protect ourselves.
But healing is not only about looking at where it began. Healing is learning how to calm the alarm, respond differently to the trigger, and build more safety within ourselves.
The wound may come from the past, but the healing happens in how we care for ourselves now. 🌿

A little reset for me 🤍
Took a few inches off and gave myself a bit of a fresh start.
Sometimes taking care of yourself isn’t a luxury… it’s necessary.
Slowing down, coming back to self-awareness, and really listening to what your mind and body need.
Strength doesn’t always look loud — sometimes it’s quiet, steady, and deeply personal. 🌿

Even a child with a high IQ can struggle in school.
When stress, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm take over, a child’s ability to focus, learn, and stay motivated naturally decreases.

It’s not about intelligence… it’s about what they’re carrying.
Two children can have the same ability, yet very different outcomes —
because one feels safe and supported, while the other may be overwhelmed inside.

So when a child is struggling, we gently shift the question:
Not… “What’s wrong with this child?”
But… “What might this child be going through right now that’s making learning harder?”

🌿 Respecting Our Limits
Respecting our limits does not mean saying no to everything.
It simply means learning to notice when our energy, time, or emotional capacity needs care.
Healthy limits help us stay present, balanced, and able to give in ways that are genuine — not out of guilt or exhaustion.
Taking care of your limits is also taking care of yourself.
