So often, they say all the right things. They speak of values, ideals, and positivity as if they truly live them.
In a culture obsessed with being ‘trendy’ or throwing around buzzwords about emotional intelligence, the ability to understand and manage emotions, both your own and others’, just saying it doesn’t mean they’re actually living it.
Emotional intelligence has many layers, and one of them is the responsibility to yourself and to others. As a therapist, I see how many of my clients fall for the right words and not the actions.
The truth is, emotional intelligence is a practice of showing up, not a label, and actions always reveal character.
