I love research, but we need to be mindful of how we are interpreting the results of research. I hope, as I do, you will read this article through a lens that is not pathologizing, but instead, will see the natural differences in which we process our worlds.

This article is providing us with a greater insight into why it is so common for children with ADHD to also have challenges with reading. What a wonderful place for empathy to start. They are not "being lazy" or "difficult", but instead are just processing the information differently.

I am happy to share, I was one of those children, and some of my children are as well. I can tell you first hand, it is challenging. But the unique way they process information also provides them with a unique world view.

Let's embrace neurodiversity together. It may be different, sometimes challenging, but also really wonderful and beautiful.

A pioneering study led by the University of Edinburgh reveals common genetic factors between dyslexia and ADHD, offering new insights that could transform support systems for these conditions.

Before we wrap up for the summer, Kate Abrams and I are hosting 2 more Perinatal Drop-In Groups in June!

Come join us the evening of June 13th for a Father's Day Special! Partners are welcome! We will be doing a quick overview of Paternal Mental Health, which affects at least 1/10 Dads, and opening up a space to discuss expectations and emotions that may be coming up due to Father's Day.

On the afternoon of June 21st, we are hosting a group on Navigating the Summer with Little Ones! What to do on rainy days/when it's too hot to go outside, expectation management and the emotions around "Why doesn't this feel like a vacation!?!"
