Six people are dead, allegedly some of them are board members, including the alleged 73-year-old suspected shooter, in a shocking Sunday evening shooting in a Vaughan high-rise condominium .
York Regional Police responded to an active shooter incident around 7:20 p.m. on Sunday night following reports of a male shooter, since identified as Francesco Villi.
Below is the info I found from open sources on the internet and put a big disclaimer that this a preliminary information ( can be not complete or incorrect) found from open sources:
The Vaughan condo shooter, FRANCESCO VILLI, 73 year old, is the owner of Unit 104 at 9235 Jane Street at YrCC 1139. He purchased his unit at $327,500 on September 14th 2014. It is alleged that he had a lung cancer and made a video on twitter before the shootings.
He sued the condo of YRCC 1139 in July. He alleged in his suit that the electrical room beneath his unit is improperly constructed, resulting in the emission of electromagnetic waves which have caused him pain. It's a ground floor condo and the shooter filed a legal suit that because his condo located immediately above an electrical room, the room emits electromagnetic waves impacting his health.
On September 13th 2021, Judge Vallee found Villi in contempt of a court order for communicating with staff employed by the Corporation after being prohibited from doing so. He lost his case against the corporation and was ordered to pay costs close to $17,000.
Villi is the sole shareholder of Villi Construction Company Ltd. A general contracting company incorporated in approximately 1973. The company has been involved in relatively small construction projects, bricklaying, stone work, cement work, additions and renovations.
Villi has a history of speaking out of order and generally engaging in abusive, frivolous and vexatious litigation and conduct. In a 1998 case against an insurance company he "used language insulting to one of the Insurer’s medical experts" but avoided being held in contempt.
Allegedly 5 or 6 people dead.
We feel down about this terrible news and so sorry for the victims. Our prayers with them and their families. This will have an on-going and long-term impact on the condo industry. We need to think how to make it safe for the condo boards and site management.
